I've decided to grind rep with some minmatar corps, but my faction standing is about -4 from doing a bunch of amarr missions. No minmatar corp will even let me use lvl 1 agents. Is there any way to raise minmatar faction without running missions for them? I've thought of using an alt to share missions, but I read somewhere that storyline standing gains aren't shared, which means I would just gain corp standing, and no faction standings, if that's correct.

I was looking at the diplomacy and connections skills. The description says they aren't cumulative. Does that mean it's a waste to train both of them? I haven't trained either and social only to rank 1 for that matter. Will it take a significant chunk out of the work I have to do to raise my standings by 2.5 if I get them both to 3-4?

Diplomacy helps if your base standings are negative, Connections if they are positive.
For the OP, train Diplomacy. Assuming your skill now is 0, you will be able to get a bit above -2 faction standings, at which time you can start running L1 missions. Failing that, if you can run missions for Sisters of Eve, or Gallente, or even Thukker Tribe, you will slowly be able to recover your Minmatar standings.

If you wait toll dominion comes out dec 1st you may find you can run agents no matter how bad your standings are.
but the worse they are the worse the lvl 1 grind will be.
I my self have a 7+ standings with gurista but with gurista pirates i suck big time. i know how ever i can run upto -10q lvl 1 agents of any faction that dislieks me a lot.
if you was not reading this right now? what would you be doing instead of reading my sig?

which will be interesting if you are kos with a group that you want improve your standing with. A bit more of a challenge if you get shot at by the locals while you are running a mission to improve standing
