CCP should pursue that and form a partnership with MS. Just imagine EVE comming Pre installed on every windows machine. How glorious would that be.
Question is, would Microsoft make a partnership with CCP, or would they just buy it outright? ---------------------

Microsoft doesn't make hardware. And if I'm not mistaken, they run the game on IBM servers.

Yes, it seems the hardware is from IBM, but it uses Windows Operating Systems, with MS SQL databases and other MS-compliant software. I guess it would be a good thing for MS to use Eve as a showcase of what their products can do: 11k+ clients connected, running DirectX graphics, etc. (okay, sometimes with lots of lag, but the others don't need to know that! :) ).

Oh my god, the thought just doesn't even bear thinking about! A pox on you for even suggesting such a thing!
Having M$ ru(i)n EVE would be like Mastermind hosted by Chris Tarrant...

That link to Eve Online on the directx site is something known as an advert.
I believe this concept works by a company paying another company to put an image and some information about their company on something that the second company owns/races/runs/prints tickets for.
Have you seen in the middle of Coronation Street where there are little pictures of cars and mobile phones and people talking about stuff that apparently has nothing to do with The Rovers' Return? That is another example of an advert.

pretty sure, MS had a part in the backing of eve at one time.
also met & played with some MS employees during beta, so...
be careful what you say, big brother might be watching.
or playing right next to you!! LOL!!!

It's Windows boxes. There's a couple of dev blogs somewhere about that.

Could be why eve's an utter bag of diahorrea when a handfull of the "massive multiplayer" players amass in 1 area and lag to bits and die in comical fasion in seconds, i personally cant think of any other commercial game in existance where intense lag (or 1 frame per 5seconds) is seen as acceptable.
Fix that problem and i drop my main concern about this game, yer its great, but when you play it the way its meant to be played and have a good old scrap, it becomes a very bad game and a completely pointless exercise, i hope the new patch/expansion fixes some gfx lag, full LOD for models/textures at mass range is just silly. __________________________________________
