As some of you realise there is a slight discrepancy between ship build cost and platinum insurance payouts. Example Rokh (Caldari Tier 3 BS)
Platinum Insurance = 49.5M Payout = 165M Cost of ship = 115.5M
As you can see if the Rokh costs under 115.5M to build you can make an easy profit by insuring it and self destructing. You can also salvage ship also.
So in line with this business model I am looking for business partners, specifically:
1. I am looking to sell large quantities of Rokh's at 113.5M per ship, allowing the business partner to make 2M from insurance destruction and possible salvage gains too (earnings are greater than 1M/min or 60M/hr).
2. Mineral suppliers to fund my huge need for minerals.
Eve mail in game or post here if your interested in either (eve mail mineral quotes 2 jumps from Jita). I will contract Rokh's to any will partners.
note: I currently have 180 Rokh's waiting for destruction 2 jumps from Jita.

I'm not sure what consistutes "large", but I'll take 20 Rokhs at the above price.
113.5M x 20 = 2.27 Billion (2,270,000,000) isk.
Contract to me if acceptable, will pick up within 24 hours.

This has nothing to do with anything, just a matter of curiosity on my part (and a free bump as well). How is production of such BS possible at such low costs? I've just assumed that there was a lot of people who were too stupid to figure out the "time is money" concept and this was responsible for the pricing. I somehow doubt that's true for any regular reader of this forum, so I'm guessing I don't understand something possibly important.

For those who believe Insurance keeps up mineral prices, this is why I have always said "No Insurance doesn't control mineral prices, the actions of those that when the mineral basket dips below a certain level does."
I personally like the Abaddon...
180,000,000.00 54,000,000.00 =126,000,000.00 level
HOLY COW!!! There are 19 Orders in Jita right now that are below that price. 76 Abaddons will be purchased by those who recently read this Post :) OH yeah, I love the 4 on the market right now for 123.5mil LOL

Just piping in to say I've self-destructed somewhere between 15bil and 20bil of BS since the arbitrage opportunity opened: you can only do ~20 an hour, not 30.
Still is 40mil/hour at your rates (I get more because many producers will make them for less, minerals/ship price gap is huge), which beats missions.
I have enough minerals for 50 rokhs in amarr I'll be wanting to liquidate once this activity raises the mineral prices a bit .

I love it.
Any chance someone can let me know how platinum insurance pricing is set? Is it fixed based of the tier of the battleship? Some percentage of something?
Thanks in advance.

Use this link for ship:
ship database
If you select a ship you will see the "BASE PRICE". This is the platinum insurance pyout price. Platinum insurance costs 30%. So if a ship sells for less than 70% of the base price you will make a profit by purchasing, insuring and self destructing ship.

I'd have gone with "Cosmo's KABOOM! Factory," but there's no accounting for taste
A while back Kazuo made this handy post (insurance profit cutoff numbers for all the BS):

I'm amazed that mineral prices haven't gone up faster. Just extrapolating from the amount I've been able to use, hundreds of billions of ISK worth of minerals must have been going up in smoke daily for (at least) the last few weeks.

You could do a little sideline in killboard padding here. Let someone shoot down your (unfitted) battleship for giggles, and it should be quicker than waiting for self-destruct to count down, and slightly more exciting!

I just let the Faction Police kill like 30 Typhoons and damn ninja salvager kept stealing my salvage lol
Much faster than by self destructing, -10.00 secstatus helps there
It's amazing how much there is battleships at the sell orders and how much ppl just toss their battleships into buy orders

Better yet, get in blown up by part time pirates (you know the one with positive sec status) and you get a chance to cash a killright on a tasty mission BS. -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

Nope, it seems to be working just fine in keeping mineral prices from sinking. Just a shame about the isk faucet. But it'll all balance out.
And, to avoid being entirely off-topic, nice business Cosmo.

Because it takes much more time.
Self destruct timer, 120 seconds IIRC.
While faction police kills your unfitted battleship in about 5 seconds
Undocking time is the same in both situations ofc...

Self destruct takes 120seconds I believe and ask time = money, its faster (and thus more profitable) to get concord/corp mate/random dude to shoot you. ---------

Curious....why are mineral prices so low? Weren't the bot miners/mission runners banned and continue to be banned? What is fueling the oversupply of minerals if not botters? |

No major wars/capital ship loses in the past few months with everyone waiting for Dominion. With no ships being built and miners still mining, the minerals are just stacking up with no one to use them.

Lack of PEW PEW, I would guess.
With Dominion on the horizon discussing massive changes to 0.0, no one is out seeking to claim great expanses of new territory. Less alliance wars -> less lost cap ships -> less demand for minerals. The fall has been pretty much across the board, in fact we see the signs of multiple cap ship enterprises suspending or closing up shop unable to make enough to warrent the time/capital investment in production, at the moment.
Adding on, not only is mineral demand in decline, isk demand actually increased (the opposite of classic mudflation, if you will). This is mostly still aftermath of Unholy Rage: less mission runners -> less LP/ISK in the system -> higher price for these things.
At least, that's my theory.

Self quoteing for the win!!
When I posted this I kept an eye out On Jita for about 6 hours, on an off every 30-45minutes.
Last time I checked last night there was 8 left under the magical 126mil mark. So how many Abaddon wrecks where salvaged outside of Jita 4-4 last night :)

As I said in the SCC channel last night. Many Abaddons purchased + 1 target painter. Undock use the target painter on the sentry gun. POP ship 1. Re-dock, get in new ship, undock. Oh-oh agression timer. Pop Repeat.
7 minutes - 10 Abaddons - 28.5M profit.
note: no standings hit!!
