Can't these companies give us some ****ing demos or trials or something? I'm not going to pay money for a sequel to a lackluster game. ---- My Music

Didn't think much of first one truth be told. A sequel at best garners merely a "hmmmm". -------------

My 2nd and 3rd favorite games are both releasing their sequals on the same day, and all the demo/ gameplay footage indicates they both will be very great.
To play AC2 first or L4D2 first, that is the question. __________________________

Screw MW2, ****te online multiplayer support.
Screw L4D2, it was a cheap money grab.
If Assassin's Creed 2 actually manages to fix gameplay problems in the first game (was quite repetitive, if there was more assassinations on high and low stakes targets, it would have been better. And i mean a lot more. Dozens. 100+. Unique and with many ways to do them. Come to think of it, kind of like Hitman, except during the crusades!). But I doubt that is the case, so screw it.

They don't do this any more because people would realize how ****ty their games are. This is another reason some people pirate before buying. -

I bought the first game in the last few months as it was in a bin at the store for cheap clearance prices.
I wish I didn't. That could have bought me something enjoyable.
I expected the game to be an awesome renaissance period version of the Hitman games or something. Instead I got a boring mess of minigames and screentests for bad voice acting and college grads at a CG work school showing off their "coolzors animated shapes and people".
Perhaps I didn't play the game enough, but it just didn't seem like what I was expecting and it's been collecting dust. In the time I played, I spent more time climbing structures and collecting those weird map markers than actually assassinating people. In fact, I played for hours, and I don't really remember but one assassination. The name of the game is Assassin's Creed.. one would expect more killing, and slow-but-fun premeditated murder. But nope, I'll have to stick to playing sneaky type characters in Oblivion, Morrowind, etc to get that fix, or Hitman.
Please enlighten me as to what i'm missing or tell me a bit about the game. I'm not trying to troll or anything, I would like to enjoy it. Do you spend a lot more time doing the killing later into the game or is it all 2 hours of talking to people in present day and dialog and cutscenes and travelling around climbing on + collecting things before seeing action each time? I don't mind slow, as long as it's an exciting slow... IE - sneaking past people to get to a victim.

That eagle sound...dear Lord did it get old. The horse thing, so badly implemented, why did they bother? The disguise thing is pathetic. Guards just give chase for walking too quick and alert the entire city simultaneously. And they're inexhaustible.
If you want a decent game of this variety, Hitman Blood Money and Contracts are both cheap, have incredible AI, weapons and missions. You can pick long, medium or short range weapons, poison, disguises, hide bodies, etc. That's what assassins do. The only good thing about Assassin's Creed was imagining how good a game they could've made in that game engine. -------------

Assasins Creed is one of those games that had an awsome idea and concept and failed to fully deliver entirely on it leaving the feeling of disapointment.
Could have done without the world roaming romp and setteled, however the idea and concept was good enough to ask for better treatment however looking at the trailers and previews I fear just as much that this game isnt going to make things that much better.
At least MW2 does deliver in the concept and story it was trying to present, though it presented it in a rapid fire motion to the point we ran out of bullets, none the less it does continue to pay tribute to some of the greatest hollywood battles in semi-military thrillers and in this installment I definetly saw two nods to the Nicolas Cage and John Connery movie 'The Rock'.
Next game on my shopping list is probably either going to be the DoW II expansion, FF 13 in the near future.
As for wishlisted games I am patiently awaiting a Homeworld 3 trailer release in next years E3 and I hope and pray that the final command and conquer in the original series doesnt mutalate the series any further but instead puts it to rest respectfully but knowing EA's butchering its probably not going to happen. Not sure what some of you other guys are going on about, the game is called Assassin's Creed, not Murder Spree. If you want a game where you mindlessly kill dozens upon dozens of people I heard Halo fits that criteria. Now if you want to play a member of a secret assassin guild who is tasked to kill the top officials of key towns during the crusade while learning the dark truth about their ultimate goal which includes your own master, all the while avoiding entire armies because you ain't Chuck Norris, then this may be your game.

I am not a huge console guy. As in I waited for at least 4 years to get an X-Box. I have not played AC11 nor do I plan on playing AC2, but what I saw on G4 made the new game look pretty friggan cool.

The beauty of this type of realization is that in about 8 months whent he schedule loosens up a bit and you have some sapre time for a new game it will be $20 in the used section

Nah, I'll just drop a hint to my mother who will pass it onto my brothers and I'll have it by Christmas since all we ever get each other are movies and video games. By then I better be done with DA:O

I once aggro'd three or four platoons/squads of guards (About 35ish guards total) in AC1, taped down the guard button and backed myself into a corner. I never died.
That said however the minute i let go of my gurd button i was quickly sent off to assassin heaven. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

And that is something that I really enjoyed about AC. I've been surrounded by tons of guards as well but by using my surroundings and planning attacks very carefully you can get out of the situation, but it takes patience as your guy is not supposed to be a stand up fighter killing everything with his pinky.
I usually try taking it to the rooftops where I can grab and toss em off the ledge. If I'm trapped in the streets then I want a corner to my back.
I remember one guy you are task to kill and how he was on a platform getting ready to kill some priests I believe because by that time people were getting suspicious of anyone wearing white robes. The platform was connected to a small building and the building had little platforms on both side large enough for 2 men. I used those to keep the small army at bay until I could get to my target.

You could have just hopped around on the boats and gotten to his big boat, climbed up onto that, and assassinated him from there. Then escape on the same route.
AC2 Is very fun.
Three things that bug me though.
There is not very good music in it, just a low hum during the dramatic "boss fights" and talking to a victim before he dies.
Also you no longer zoom in while performing finishing moves on people. I haven't looked into the options much but I do wish that you could turn this back on sometimes.
And the voice acting is pretty bad at some parts of the game.
But everything else about the game is awesome.
9.5/10 for me. __________________________

Wrong guy. The one I'm talking about is more inland. In fact I don't think the city had any bodies of water around. The building was connected to like a hangmans platform and you kind of make your way into the crowd when the short starts and you listen to him talk.
