When using multiple clients do you create an EVE directory per account or do you run all accounts off of the same EVE installation?
If you run all of your accounts off of the same EVE installation directory, and you also use programs that will Window (but borderless fullscreen) your clients automatically, how do you tell it which ones go where since the executable name is the same?
Thanks!

i personally am using a single installation, but I also am wondering..
Also, evemon will do the boarder-less fullscreen if you tell it to.. not sure if it can differentiate between clients.
Also, eve can 'identify character' or something in the settings, so it tells you which character is on which account in the title part of the window. OHGODS BELOW THIS LINE IS MY SIG !!!! SRSLY! There is an option to change the window title to include the active character name in the settings somewhere. As long as your relocation software can work from the title then that works well (I use "Shift Window" IIRC)

I run four clients simultaneously from one installation. I don't use anything to tweak the eve windowed mode, I just adjust it so the only thing I see is a hair thin line at the top.
To ID your clients, open Eve > Esc Menu > General Settings, and check the box labeled 'Show Window Identification'. This puts the character name on the correct instance of EvE. When you alt tab or look at the taskbar, the window is labeled 'Eve - NyteTyger'.
Tip I picked up on the boards that was even better was to make your UI a bold color, and a different color for each account. Now IDing them is as easy as alt-tab to the right color

Edited by: Ashina Sito on 18/11/2009 06:25:30 I have always used EveLauncher. It does "full screen with windowed" settings.
I use 2 client installs on different hard drives.

I use the same installation, i used to make 2, but i could use the HDD space for more usefull things (like chatlogs lol).
evemon is only capable of forcing 1 client into fullscreen, and if you happen to have evemon open wile the 2nd client launches it will force that ontop of the other client on the same screen. I usualy have evemon force 1 client (main) and have the alt in windowed on the other monitor, makes it fairly easy to check forums/kb/maps wile your still paying attention to your main.
didnt know about CCP making you get 2 installs, seeing they never stopped you from launching the client twice out of the same install.
What i do wonder though is the preformance, about a year ago before all the speedpatches running 2 different installs was better for my machines preformance then running 2x the same install. These days it appears to be worse like when i run TQ and SISI at the same time. -- Carebear Evolution. Learning People to explode since: Err, since we felt like it.

Eve-launcher and separate folders for the accounts.
Assign hotkeys for the clients in eve-launcher, which is nice. A bonus feature is to have the clients run in windowed mode and then have eve-launcher run them in "semi-fullscreen mode".
Streamlined multiboxing right there.

Closed thing I see in the EULA: http://www.eveonline.com/pnp/eula.asp YOUR ACCOUNT You may establish only one (1) account for each copy of the Software licensed. If you wish to establish another Account, you must obtain another license for the Software (you may be able to do this by purchasing another boxed version of the Software or from the EVE Online web site http://www.eve-online.com).

I use one folder for each account. That way their settings and cache files don't overlap each other and are neatly stored in your documents folder in their own places. If you run them all out of the same folder your settings and cache are all stored in the same location and it's hard to tell which is which. ---

Thats only if you buy the boxed versions of the game that come with CD keys, it doesn't apply to downloads.

Doesn't apply either way, your account is your license therefore if you establish 1 connection per account then you are not breaking the eula (which conveniently is the maximum number of logins per account).
Your license is not your install and it certainly isn't your box.

I was doing 2 clients from one install but the lag switching between toons in win7 was going to get me killed so I built a second box for my miner/logistics alt. Now I just input commands on the second kb/mouse. guess I could theoretically use synergy and control both boxes with the same mouse/kb but I found it to be buggy in the past in other games and it would suck to get killed because I can't get my mouse to move back to the right computer.
Now if I could just figure out how to get the sound from both clients into the same headset. Probably going to get a cheap ear bud and stick it in under my Fatality headset (I can't say enough good stuff about that fatality usb headset the sound is awesome)
I also find the second comp handy for looking up mission reports with out having to tab out of my combat/mission toon.
