So how we can stop mutual war? |

A friend of mine recently got locked into a mutual war becuase the other defenders made it mutual then all dropped corp to join another alliance...
CCP said this is working as intended, then i hear about Goonswarm and their mutual war and see they've apparently squirmed their way out of it. Maybe they paid a settlement?

They will still have their mutal war, it's just limited to the corp they actually decced and not 40 other bandwagoneer as well.

I thought that was the whole point in the ally system? Damned confusing if you ask me, and starting to sound like a serious case of ok for one but not for the other.

The point of the ally system is to get help when you get decced against your will. Making the war mutual implies that you are fine dealing with the consequences and you want to fight back yourself. |

So not, the best defense is to simply have more members in your corp so that being declared war on is cost prohibitive, while being bigger than anyone you declare war on?
This makes it so that you can bail if they get enough help to make you suffer. But still have the advantage if they make it mutual.
