          Can we please get a dev in charge who HAS A CLUE about the game??
 
  "Capital ship fights rarely if ever happen at short distances." Capital fight ALWAYS happen at short range!
 
  "In order to allow the XL Turrets to be viable on other ship classes..." What other ship classes?? Titans?! Get a clue man! No one uses titans when they can do the same damage with 2 or 3 dreads. That is ridiculous!
  "Due to the changes made to XL Turrets, Citadel Missiles/Torpedoes and projectile turrets, the Naglfar became an absolute monster." Enough comments on that in this thread already. Just shows that obviously that dev either cannot understand his own changes or that he is just to lazy and doesn't care about them and makes things up out of the blue.
 
  "The explosion velocity is slightly higher than that of the Citadel Cruise Missiles (or 2250) which means target painters will have to be utilized in many situations to achieve full damage potential." Target painters do not work on structures, supercapitals or sieged capitals.
 
  "As we said, roles are what matter." Okay, then tell us what roles you propose for the carrier, dread, mothership and titan. Because I haven't heard A SINGLE word about that so far.
 
  And I don't really want to comment about the fact that we had a nice working solution for those supercapitals thanks to Abathur's good work together with the players. Then suddenly out of the blue Nozh appears, destroys everything, changes everything to the worse and makes everything a complete fail so that a nice part of the expansion must be cancelled (balancing supercapitals). Yeah, great work there Nozh and great game CCP for letting this guy ruin AGAIN (it is not the first time) some interesting stuff. No, I won't comment, I would get only upset.

  Are you just throwing those numbers together regardless if they make sense with the existing weapon systems? Or is there some deeper meaning?
  Because the standard cruise missiles have a smaller explosion radius than the standard torpedos. Same goes with all the other guided vs unguided missiles. They NEVER have a larger explosion radius. Just suddenly those new xl guided missiles have 50% larger explosion radius?
  Yeah, makes all so much sense.
  Talking about a clear game design compared to just throwing sh!t together in the hope that it will work.

          Hey Nozh, are you going to quickly hack in some target painter that will be able to affect sieged capitals etc.?
  Yeah, that would fit into all the other design approaches. No clear design documents, quick and dirty hacks, ignoring player feedback etc. And all only so that 'your' solution can work. How about taking a step back, eh?
  There was TONS of player feedback on the test forums, WEEKS of productive work with CCP Abathur who has realy a lot of game experience and there was a solution which finally made everyone happy.
  All wiped out by a guy who doesn't even know the most basic game mechanics and has no clue about capital warfare. A guy who bases his 'weapon balancing' around non-existing gameplay.
  And CCP doesn't understand that this is outraging?
 
  Oh, and still waiting for some numbers. Or do I need to go to the test server and lookup all the numbers myself? Then I don't need those blogs. The only number in the devblog is that the new siege cruise missile will have 1500 explosive radius. What speed they have? What damage, rof? Fitting properties of siege cruise missile launchers? How about titans? What damage they do? How many hp? Boni? Cooldown of DD? This devblog is total BS talk. 
 
  Next time please no completely unnecessary graphs, less nonsense talk and more solid numbers!

  That is, of course, incorrect.  Off topic posts and personal attacks are never constructive and should be deleted, regardless of how much pent up nerd rage you wish to express. Posts that at least have some relevance are being left in place, which is constructive. Express your displeasure with some small measure of maturity from now on and quit playing armchair freedom of speech activist.

  Gladly enough there is eve-search where most of the deleted posts can be read up. Do so and you will find that a lot of posts are pretty relevant.
  Relevant maybe not to this thread, but to the game in general.

  What are we supposed to do? After testing weeks and months those things on the test server they get discared from a total stranger (well not so strange for those who know that guy  ) who just walked in. And from that point everything pretty fast went complete bonkers.
  How and WHY should we ever do some testing on test server again and give feedback and do work - yes it IS work! - for you if all we get is the finger and not even TWO replies from the devs after thousands of posts?

  Thanks for the reply. Late maybe but not too late.
  However, if these capital changes are the result of teamwork, how does it come that no one noticed that strange role of target painters is going to play for those new balanced capital weapons? Target painting sieged dreads, seriously teamwork?
  And how can I understand that titans have no clear role and are still changes, yet moms don't get changed because they have no clear role?
  And what about instapopping moms now by 2-3 titans? That cannot be right either, even not for a temporary solution!
  So, the supercarriers didn't make it in because they were overpowered? Well ... communicating this to the players was a pretty big failure   I hope you will implement Abathurs original concept and tone down the effectiveness of remote reps on moms, then they should be really fine. |

          Over the mothership and censorship drama let us not forget the capital weapon changes.
 
  Can please any competent dev respond on the target painter stuff? What nonsense is that capital weapons cannot hit SIEGED capitals or pos towers for full damage?
 
  And if you post dps graphs, can you please post the dps under REALISTIC conditions, that is standard t2 fit, fleet boni etc.?
 
  And PLEASE can you give us some NUMBERS?!??!?! For **** sake, don't write articles about stuff that no one is interested in (like motherships with 5 dcu and 3 target painters and 20 fighter bombers, that wont happen anyway so what is the point in making up those numbers?!) but give us NUMBERS!!!
 
  A list of the new weapon stats please. ALL of the (relevant) stats!

  What exactly was the problem? "They had the potential to be overpowered" is really just bs PR talk. EVERY significant ship has the potential to be overpowered if you make blobs of them.
  So what? You identify exactly the problems in a detailed analysis and tackle them then.
  But seriously, what can we expect from a team of devs who do not even know how capital warfare is done and how the game mechanic around capitals is working? Can we really expect some INSIGHT into the problems and can we hope for SOLUTIONS?

  If they say that a blob of titans + sc has really no counter and is the i-win, then okay: say so, show the numbers and everyone will see and understand.   But maybe it was some other reason? Maybe not? Who knows?
  How can we give any valuable feedback at all without knowing anything? It needed thousands of posts and a real outcry on the forums before Hammerhead said that the changes were cancelled because the devs felt it was possibly to powerful. And that after WEEKS of questions about the sudden and totally abrupt scrapping of all work on caps + supercaps so far.
  How can we give any valuable feedback if CCP is not talking to us in a clear, transparent and professional manner? And if those changes were really so bad, why couldn't Abathur just say so at the end of the long feedback period? Everyone would have been sad, maybe upset a bit also, but most people would have understood it.
  How can we give any valuable feedback if the devs in charge just saying nothing at all, make assumptions which are completely out of the scale and have nothing to do with the game and just hide behind some irreal graphs otherwise.
  How can we give any valuable feedback under such circumstances?

  Weeks and months of feedback from the test server, a really good pack of carriers, supercarriers and titans together with capital weapons, fighters and fighter bombers achieved. Then CCP suddenly thinks 'oh my oh my ... overpowered if they use it as remote repair blob' and then they say 'uh oh, no good, let us cancel ALL achivements' after 2 weeks of nonsens fiddelling around (docking moms, everyone? lol). So why not doing the first best thing and reduce remote rep capabilities on those supercarriers if you fear a rr blob?
  Instead all capital weapon systems get changed under assumptions which are all invalid (long range cap battles, target painting etc.) and the motherhsip is reverted but the titan changes go through. Hello? Anyone there??
  And what is going on here anyway?
  Thousands of really worried and upset player posts pointing out over and over again what is wrong with these changes and what we got? 1 irreal reply from nozh (and his team?) and one off-topic damage control post from hammerhead. That's all?
  So I ask again and will ask again and again: WHERE ARE THE NUMBERS???
  Can we please, PLEASE have some NUMBERS? All stats and values of those new weapons and ammo. And please no more graphs, just the weapons and the numbers. And the ships and changes in boni.
 
  A final note on the naglfar. It was said that the nag would have been a monster if unchanged. So what? The dps would have been a bit more than the average dread but still it would have had the weakest tank by far! Trading dps for tank seems only totally in order.
  You just can't pick ONE property of the ship (dps) and ignore all other properties (tank, fitting, skills etc.)
  And anyway, there was totally no NEED for ANY changes on the caps. The only reason why some changes was necessary was the titan and its weapons, but they are a joke anyway - doing as much damage as a dread but costs 50 times more?
  And the current motherhsip are uhm ... yeah ... single shot pop. That can't be right, under no circumstances.
  So my suggestion: cancel ALL changes to the caps and supercapitals.
  Then work out the remote rep stuff for the moms so that there won't be invincible mothership rr blobs and there you are!
