Okay, Mr. Nozh you made an oopsie.
I would like to get an explanation why the Naglfar got its bonuses changed so it is now, YET AGAIN... A "SPLIT-WEAPON" Platform, no it's not primarily about the damage potential it's the UNFAVOURABLE fact's which I am going to point out to you:
* A split weapon-platform must use double the amount of lowslots for damage mod's to receive THE SAME AMOUNT of boost in damage as currently all the other three dreads (Who only have ONE KIND OF WEAPONS SYSTEMS to worry about boosting damage in.
* This splurging of valuable slots results in less slots for fitting a tank and other necessary modules.
* Also makes it necessary for Minmatar Dread Pilots to train for TWO PRIMARY weapons systems, while the other races do not have to.
* So you end up with a dread, that takes longer to train for than other race's dreads.
* You end up with a dread that has maybe 5-10% more dps but shockingly lower staying power.
* This also results in Naglfars becoming more viable targets to shoot than any other dreads, mainly because of their weak staying power coupled with a marginally higher damage potential.
* This resulted in Minmatar Pilots and even non-minmatar pilots lobbying to change the Naglfar to something sensible, it took YEARS. And it was changed, it was ADEQUATE for a few months, no it still was not the best dread even with those big bonuses it had, it was merely competitive. And worth training for.
* Now you REVERT THE CHANGES?... I'M BAFFLED. Oh...... right, you balanced the turrets to make them better, because of the Titans using them. Oh damn, the NAGLFAR does too much damage now! Ahhh, lets look at what you said again...
Originally by: CCP Nozh Due to the changes made to XL Turrets, Citadel Missiles/Torpedoes and projectile turrets, the Naglfar became an absolute monster, not in a good way. The weapon bonuses on the Naglfar had to be adjusted to keep the balance intact.
No you did not ADJUST them, you CHANGED them. And NERFED the Naglfar back into the ****vortex it was stuck in before!
If you really wanted to ADJUST the bonuses, you would tweak the two damage bonuses to projectiles to match... 5% ROF and 5% DMG. I have a feeling that would have okay, or just tweak it a bit more. Like say 6% of each, do you have a rule that says that bonuses must be either 5% or 7,5% ? Well its stupid if its only for looks, and balancing would be easier too.
Did it ever occur to you that you could balance the damage of the Ragnarok and Naglfar at the same time? Finding a good solution for something which then forces you to make totally unfair changes to is stupid.
Give us back the Naglfar we actually liked and used with joy, knowing that it was just as good as the other dreads. That would be one way to help you crawl out of the proverbial **** pit you've flung yourself into.
