I've crawled through EVE search and google, and my search-fu is weak, cause I can't find anything.
I believe LO usage on a bridge (whether it a POS, Titan, or black ops) is a function of distance x mass of ship, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have the definitive formula to calculate LO required? I would really appreciate it. Thanks. -------------- ~Vice Admiral, Executive Officer Sturmgrenadier, Inc. Join Sturmgrenadier today! |

Ship mass in millions of kilos times distance in light years divided by 2. Or, 500 units per light year per billion kilos of mass. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Does this take into account cargo - i.e. a fully loaded freighter will burn more than an empty? -------------- ~Vice Admiral, Executive Officer Sturmgrenadier, Inc. Join Sturmgrenadier today! |

I really couldn't say. The biggest ship I've ever moved via a jump bridge was a Raven. The times I've moved an industrial via bridge I wasn't carrying a ton of cargo, so I can't really say if it affected it or not. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Pretty sure it's just the mass of the ship (including FITTED modules like plates or active MWDs).

The mass of the ship doesn't change depending on the cargo, the main reason for this is that recalculating the total mass of your ship every time you pick up something is going to be a pain, not to mention that data would need to be transmitted to other players for them to determine how bumping into you would play out etc, it would be a massive cause of lag and potential de-sync.
It's 500 units of LO per 1,000,000,000kg per LY. For a POS jump bridge.
So for the maximum 5LY a Capital ship is using somewhere between 2500 and 3000 units of LO, a BS about 300, a hauler about 40 etc.
You can use the jump planner to work out the distance between points and then the show info window to work out the mass of each ship. Also if you empty the bridge of LO and try and jump, it tells you how much you need.
