Bo hoo they have to pay 10,000 a year now, honestly private school starts at 40,000 and then goes up from there. If you don't have the money you can get scholarships as long as you are not white.
I pay roughly 7,000 a year to go to CSU(its kinda like the UC system's little brother).
If some people don't enroll because they cannot afford it, nor do they have the grades to receive the scholarship, nor will they work for 30% more pay. They can leave so people who really want the education don't have to fight for their seats in classes they need. -------------

I managed to be a manager in a tech field with a measly 2 year degree in electronics from the military.
A friend of mine makes heinous bucks in the film industry and never went to film school.
The most bitter people are the ones who got tricked into college. 80 grand for a degree for what? To go work in a cubicle.
Higher education is needed for the sciences, medical, engineering.
For everything else, you need to work hard and not rely on a stupid piece of paper that says little more than "I went into debt paying some professor to indoctrinate me".

I have seen their main documentary. good stuff, only some of the figures that they cited as accurate (as absolutely horrifying as the figures are) are actually not accurate.
Things have gotten a lot worse since the documentary was made. And they will continue to get bad.
If Americans don't wake up soon, the country is finished. Although tbh it's likely already too late. I just hope they let me leave in 2 years. |

They where already paying 10,000 a year. Its 12,000 now. Keep in mind that price is only tuition. Dorms, food, books, and other school fees are extra on top of that. Its not uncommon for someone to be paying 28,000 a year before the price hike.
However, there really are a lot of people in college that don't belong there. -

We had some major riots on UC Berkeley campus too today. At first looked fun, I almost joined in but figured I had better things to do, plus luckily it does not affect me now.
And yes it is not just $10,000 that you pay yearly but around $22-25,000 all together for housing, books, transportation, food, etc. so some people end up having quite some hefty loans when they graduate. The UCLA area is especially bad for finding a cheap place to rent because, well, the campus is located in one of the more expensive neighborhoods in Los Angeles. And now add these tuition hikes. These aren't the first ones though. They just got more coverage because of heavy rioting. They bumped tuition before as well as increased various small fees to harness more money from the students.
I never understood why anyone would consider going to those 40-50K tuition schools (unless you got a very good scholarship that covers it all) because I highly doubt that the education you get there is literally 2-3x as good. The UC system has always been considered to be affordable education for high GPA students who come from families who can't pay those 50K a year. Sad to see that after all this money mismanagement it is becoming less and less affordable now.

I completely understand what you are saying, but how many of those students have come out of similar university setting that payed a minimum of 40k for a degree and then end up sitting at a desk answering phones in a job that any high school graduate could be trained to do in a week or two.
If I had things to do over I would have stuck with my pipe fitting/wielding summer job that I worked to pay for school and then saved a good bit of money and gone back to school when I could afford it without loans. Then again times are slightly different now, but I still think most students would be better off working for a few years before they went to college.
Who knows, this type of switch may finally relieve some of the jobs that all the illegals come flooding across the boarder to do. Well, all is fine when wishful thinking is included.
Unfortunately, too many students go into college without a single day of hard labor in their entire lives. I know this a generalization, but I come from a fairly rural suburb in the south where it is very easy to find kids helping their fathers with hard manual labor, but even there it was a scarcity, and I seriously doubt that it is any better in Southern/Middle Cali.

I'm paying the equivalent of 25k dollars a term JUST for tuition, that doesn't include books, equipment needed, food, rent, council tax, electricity, water, telephone or internet access (Including just rent and internet access it climbs to 36,260 dollars).
When you consider that I'm going to be here for another six years... ______________________________________________

Either this, or Alex Jones is sick of pirates posting his videos on YouTube rather than buying them from him.
Didn't want to watch this anyway.

I am paying 2.25k USD effectively for tuition, and from government i receive bit under 5k USD + partly free public transportation (either weekend or not in weekend, you can choose). Of course still got to pay for rent, books, etc.
