You need to take into account that a Taranis without speedmods goes 5.2 km/s with heat. A Crusader does 5.1 km/s without heat, so the Taranis will be hard pressed to grab the Crusader before taking too much damage.
You're one of the few good Crusader pilots who do well when staying at range, but honestly - Crusader doesn't come close to the solo'ing potential a Taranis has. And rarely will you beat a competent pilot in an inty duel when your optimal is like 3k from overloaded scram range.

Because if they have an AB a competent Ranis pilot will not engage unless he knows the Sader pilot is bad. And the fight will never happen because the Crusader pilot died in the camp that he couldn't run through 3 jumps back!
I know FraXy just had a movie with it, but those are not competent pilots. Good movie though. ;)

All the Crusader has to do is overheat in response, unless you magically think overheat damage will just happen to just one interceptor. Most Taranis's do that lolfit AB/MWD thing, so you won't even have a web to assist you in chasing down a Crusader.
Thing with overheat is: you can do this once per 10 seconds. So you need to pray your MWD cycle ends 2-3 seconds after ranis one so you can:
1. actually see him overheat
2. have your overheat ready in 2-3 seconds
If you miss cycle you are as good as dead. If you have to wait half a cycle - its quite possible you are dead. But even ignoring overheat on ranis (and nomnom 13km web 11km scrambler) remember ranis can fit rails. Rail ranis afaik has still more EHP than sader and more dps. And similiar range (larger than pulse comparable to beams).
Myself? Either gatling plated sader (+scrammer) - but if ranis catches me im dead. Or neutron blaste ranis, old style web+scram+mwd. Even tho AB/MWD looks good on paper id still prefer to have 13km 60% slowdown on enemy.
Yeah, Artemis is pretty much delusional if he thinks countering overheating is as simple as 'overheating yourself'.
