I think that if CCP can get an organized battle with over 200 players on the test server it would serve the EVE community best for fleet battles.
The lag , non loading, anf modules not working is really hurting the playability of fleet engagements.
Can you schedule an event on the test server before Shiva is released so we can see how it affects client side, and have the dves in there and watch ?

Hey man,
Its a good idea, but its not gonna be possible tbh, the Test cluster is no where near the power of the TQ cluster so its not really gonna proove anything i dont think, but I can tell you the ui is more repsonsive that ever ive seen.
Its just that 200 players in one place at one time is an awful lot really, we just gotta hope technology evolves to cater for it in the future..
Other than that, if we can organise an event for 200 people to slug it out, it would still be hella fun Sass Arcane Technologies |

The only other solution would be jump gates that only allow so many people in a given system ..when its to its limit then the lock the system down til a few die or leave..hell i would be the first to make room so not a long wait there then only joking about the gates btw .. as many have said it would be nice if things could be tested and solutions found

Whatever they need to do to test server load and make improvements gets my full support. Do it on TQ for all I care just move 200 of us to a system and let us go at it with all the devs there and logs running and whatever it takes.
More importantly I'd just like to see someone from CCP post somewhere to tell us what their position is on all this and where their "lagbuster" project is at. Some feedback would be nice guys!

Signed.
My understanding is the test server should be able to support at least a couple of hundred players, which is enough to see if it all goes wrong in a 100 vs 100 battle.
If the devs set it up, I'll be there.

Interesting idea.
Suggestion: How about a player formed event? Announced in advance, with a specific suugestion to CCP that the watch their servers, and look for ways to improve things.
As many players don't like losing important ships, use alts.
Call it "The Day of the Alts" or "Leming Alts".
Here is the idea: Announce weeks in advance, that everyone in Eve invited to move an alt to Torrinos. Also suggestio that they have that alt move his clone spawn there.
Then, on a Saturday at a good time for Euro and America, hundred of noob ships jump into EC-P8R for a kill fest.
My suggestion: 2nd Saturday after Shiva is launched. This will give CCP two weeks to deal with the initial bugs, which will be certain to need some time to fix.
I'll bring an Ibis of DOOM, and if pks in Battleships attend, no problem. Will be interesting to see 200 noob ships rush a Battleship.

Only problem with that is its open to major exploits, IE like in Planet side people would want to take a region so they would just pile 40380984830408 poeple into it vs the 35 defenders and force a region lock. Then they could happily nuke all the bases and take em over...
I see the exact same thing happening with that method. Sass Arcane Technologies |

One way to find out... ;)
Either way it'll provide some useful test data if half the fleet CTDs like in Curse earlier this evening on TQ. ____________________________________
