Are pirate implants worth it for frigate and destroyer class ships? The idea would be to use them mostly in low sec PvP.
The reason I ask is that I don't want to train Cybernetics V unless they are worth it (I know +5s are nice, but I don't want to train it just for them, since respeccing means you can have a very nice training speed with just +4s).

If you're on the ball, you'll never lose a clone in lowsec. As for the ship classes… sure, as long as you play towards the strong points of the ships. For instance, adding a couple of percent to a very small amount of hitpoints (as frigates and destroyers tend to have) only leaves you with a very very small bonus… ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

I think that whilst slaves and crystals would be less useful on a frigate than on a battleship, halos and snakes would be quite useful to have, as those boost frigates main strengths.

For frigate and destroyer pvp make a jump clone and fill the first 5 slots with lg snakes as they are not too exspensive and give a really nice boost to speed then fill the rest with whatever combination of 3% hardwires will best compliment the ships you fly. Still hurts if you get podded but not nearly as much as a hg set with 5% hardwires. Also you only need cyber 4 to use an lg set and pretty much all 3% hardwires.

I don't think i would fly in frigates and small ships with those implants. I have 3 characters all with crystals and some with crystals and slaves. Ive lost 2 sets of crystals in my time and after a rage log i have always repurchased them b/c of their usefulness. How ever (i don't fly small ships often) i find that when I'm in a small ship the pace is very fast leaving a greater margin for error upon warp out - where as when your in a battleship you see yourself going down and can prepare to warp yourself out.
A trimarked and slaved punisher would own though.

wouldnt recomend it, sometimes in frigs you can pop so insanely fast due to error or just bad target pick, 200man focused fire BS blob whatever, just lag beats you to it.

All Omegas need Cyber 5, even the LG Omegas.
I would be hesistant to implant a frig/dessie clone for the reasons given in the last two posts above. You WILL pop too quickly to begin your pod evac, and you WILL eventually lag and lose them. But I do strangely find myself really really wanting a snaked sader. |

I didn't reccomend he use the omega as thats a billion isk all on its own. I use the first five lg snakes on my fw alts and even in a frigate I have plenty of time to select something for the gtfo warp. Will I eventually get caught out and lose a set? Sure but if I cared about that I wouldn't use them in the first place so if he is comfortable with the risk then he can reap the benefits.

The sets I am looking at the most are Snakes, Halos, and the new FW implants. I would probably be going for HG implants with the Omega. I especially like the idea of Snakes, even if they are not as good as they used to be. The question is: if I have the ISK, are they worth it?
As for the risk of losing them, I am not that worried about it in low sec (FW).
It would be nice to have some +4 Pirate implants.

The answer is: Do you want to be a faster than anything else in the same class of ships as you? Speed is life and a full hg snake set will put you anywhere from a few hundred m/s to possibly a couple of thouand m/s faster than a comparably fit ship depending on what you are ganged with.

Thanks for the replies, I went ahead and started training Cybernetics V. A few months from now, that should make for a very happy new small ship pilot for me to play around with.
