tonight while trying to make it to n7 in a shuttle there was a group of players camping the gate with battle ships and crusers. well after getting blown up and then killed I open a chat with Kendar congratulating him on the kill (it was a fare kill, tho a little onesided lol). Then asked if he spent a lot on the Devastator Cruise Missile I he use to blow up my ship; I wanted to make shure he did not waste his credits. He then closed the chat box. If I can respect him to congrat him for the kill, the least people can do is be cilvil about it.

tbh he did the whole situation a favour, your comment sounds like the start of some smak talk, anyone with half a brain can see where that convo was going.

He is not whining about being killed. He is complaining about how unpolite people may be. As you perfectly said, this is a game, and when you play a game with people, you expect a minimum grade of sportiveness and respect from your opponent. And no, with "sportiveness" I don't mean that he should have used a civilian gatling gun to shot him down; I mean he should at least have accepted his congratulations.

Um when ppl congratulate me on killing them, when it was obivously and easy kill, it always turns to smack talk, and if your a pirate thats almost all you get to hear when ppl open chats.
Plus ppl convo ppl to attempt to stray their attention nowadays to gain a little advantage in combat. Pretty lame tactic imho.
If you got ganked at a gate, most likely everyone on the other side is laughing about it and posting your kill in their chats.

I ones meet a pirate that was fly towatch me..he scramble me..so I could not warp...but I was able to keep a distance of 20k from...flying around 2k..all the time..so his guns could not hit me...but..he opened a chat window..and say...
give me 2 mil..and I will let you fly...I said no way...and he kill me...
but ...at least I had the option so say yes or no.
I like stuff like this a lot...he was a good pirate :) at least the choice to die..was my choice :)

but you should be able to congratualte people ona kill if it was a fair kill, but to me people who kill people in a shuttle of all things are bullies, no fairness in it, how can somethign thats not a challenge be fun?

some are respectful, some are not. It'd be nice if all were but it's just not the case.

Although I have found a very few people with attitude I can understand why he closed the convo as i would think you were starting to take the p*ss with a comment like that. To be honest if the guy is flying a battleship and he targeted and fired at you then I am sure he could make the value jusdgement about using a cruise missile to kill you or not.

It is so pathetic when I see 4 battleships and 2 intys camping a 0.4 system gate going into a 0.5 system, killings shuttles, newbies, frigs... All they want to do is make peoples days more miserable, and if thats how they get there fun, there may not be much hope for humanity...

well im still classed as a newbie still on my 14 day trial but i am an ex beta player, so not a total newb, and i agree were in trouble if this is the case, so much for honour
