Solo pvp isn't dead, you just have to be prepared to do all the jobs that would normally be done by different gang members all at once. HTFU
otoh, GJ for being the first 'solo pvp is dead' thread in a while that hasn't involved being blobbed at every opportunity. What's that? You're out on your own and you reguarly encounter more than one person!? Heresy!

its not dead but it seems to require more and more patience and time these days, certainly is harder (or seems so) than back in ye olden days

CCP is working on it. The new Epic Pirate Arch missions are an indication of this.
Tho sadly, I don't think they'll ever get around to implementing similar changes for say, low-sec or NPC 0.0 mission running.

It certainly isn't dead and i doubt it ever will be. I just reactivated my account 3 days ago and i've already got a few solo kills(This, this & this).
I've spent the last year soloing in stain and so far it has gone very successful. You just have to think outside the box, you can't expect everything to stay the same, you have to adapt to the changes. It's true low sec piracy isn't what it used to be, but it shouldn't affect you much since it just means you have to go somewhere else to get kills other than low sec, that is ofcourse assuming that you just want things to shoot solo and are not a hardcore low sec pirate roleplayer who goes 'yarrr' and stuff killing newbs which if it is the case i really do feel for you.

If by solo pvp you mean endless an endless stream of targets for you to gank on your own without any risk then no, that never existed.
If you mean is it possible to engage in combat without a fleet then its possible and common.
Your problem is that your trying to gank people who are not looking to fight. This is infinitely harder to pull off that going into amamake and yelling "cruiser 1v1 anyone?" in local.
Basically stop being a ***** and try to fight people who fight back, or be prepared to have to wait a long time between fights.

solo pvp is there, wh ganks are there usually the only people that constantly spam scan in wh's though are miners and they cant shoot back anyways (although nobody spams directional scanner while mining for 2 hours straight every 1.3 seconds  ). Just go out and do it again u will get better
