Hi!
I've just started caldari mission running and i have a few hundred mil to spend. What implants would be good to aim for?
I'd like to know the cheap set, a set if you wanna spend some more and one set for the big spender.

It all depends on what ship you want to fly. Personally, I'd go for a set of +5s to speed up skill training, then get some good 5% hardwires. I am partial to the CR8, CC8, 5% missile velocity, 5% shield amount, 5% shield recharge and 5% missile ROF.

Well maybe out of your pricerange now, but if you're going to stick with the CNR, or active shield tanks in general, look at getting a Crystal set.

Spend your money on low grade crystals. Use your lp to buy the hardwirings...

Edited by: Wet Ferret on 29/11/2009 12:12:25 I keep this list handy for my missile/shield implant needs:
Slot 6 Halo Omega - Sig radius reduction Crystal Omega - Shield boosting KTA1000 - Launcher CPU need KUA2000 - Shield upgrade power need ZMT2000 - Torpedo damage ZMU2000 - Cruise missile damage
Slot 7 ZMH2000 - Heavy missile damage ZME2000 - Heavy assault missile damage KVA2000 - Shield capacity ZML1000 - Missile velocity ZMC1000 - Missile flight time
Slot 8 ZMA1000 - Guided missile explosion radius ZMD2000 - Defender missile velocity
Slot 9 ZMS1000 - Missile explosion velocity KYA2000 - Shield recharge rate ZMN2000 - Standard missile damage ZMR2000 - Rocket damage
Slot 10 ZMM1000 - Launcher rate of fire ZMF2000 - FoF missile explosion radius
These IDs are for the highest quality versions but if you search the market for the first three letters it should bring up all three types. Omegas are for the pirate implants that are part of the set you can replace your learning implants with.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

My thoughts exactly. You don't need crystal sets to do well in a cnr. Get +5s and 5% hardwires and you are good.

Did you people even read the OP?
Crystal sets? Plus 5 sets?
He said he had a couple of hundred million, not a couple of billion.
Now for an answer.
You don't need implants for running missions. In general though, I find that any implant that will increase PG comes in handy as there never seems to be enough power for what you need or want to fit. Same for CPU. And if you don't have plus 4s by now you should get some.

You don't *need* implants for the CNR.
Definitely Don't Need: Cruise missiles have more than enough range and velocity as is so the speed and flight time implants are out. Three rigor rigs means you don't need the explosion velocity or sig size implants.
Maybe Useful: The RoF and Damage implants are supposedly applied before the BCUs are taken into account, which means the BCUs noticeably multiply their effectiveness. This isn't that important against cruiser targets, but is important against battleships which can take many salvos to kill with cruise missiles. The idea is that the extra damage will save you a volley. However, instead of spending tens of millions on implants, you can buy millions of isks worth of CN faction missiles which do, IIRC, 15% more damage (versus the 6.2% increase that %3 RoF and %3 damage implants provide.) Long story short, buy CN ammo first and then buy rof/damage implants to enhance the faction ammo damage.
Utility/Fitting Implants are Very Useful: If a utility/fitting implant (such as power grid or CPU) allows you to fit more gank (ex: more BCUs) then use them. The CCx and CRx are nice because they provide more cap.
Just remember, that you'll eventually replace them with 5% implants, so you'll be throwing a lot of money away on 3% implants. (You can save implants by using jump clones.) If you ever plan on flying a Golem (torpedo platform) that cruise missile damage implant is also a "waste" of money in the long term.

What kind of implants? Hmm... that depends on the natural size..
Okay, okay, inappropriate jokes aside, if you are going for the CNR or Golem, you'd do well to get a set of Crystal implants. After that, get some missile implants..and if you can't find anything to fill slot 8, that capacitor one is real nice.

If its a CNR, then deadeye ZMMs are a must have, as are ZMUs if you are a cruise man. ZMAs will be a great help against smaller ships, and if you still have isk to spend, then ZMSs too.
Slot 7 is the only one without a decent hardwire for cruise users. I've got a Gnome KVA in there for extra shields,
