Edited by: Peryner on 28/11/2009 04:09:26 CCP, I know you guys spent a good amount of money on this pnp tech eve now has (ala the fitting window) picture in picture should be in more placing in the game, and the most resent trailer gave me an idea.
Why not have an optional pnp window you can open, which just acts as a second camera on your ship? SO you can see the main camera like normal, and then in the top right corner you have a second window showing you ship in real time up close.
Now we could zoom all the way out to see the battlefield, and when we right click to set interest and parent we would see not our main view change, but the cool up close action cam change.
because as much as WE ALL KNOW eve is just as pretty as that trailer, you can't be a camera man in a fleet fight :P

This would work even better as an option for a second screen much like the one used in supreme commander.

I agree sliding panels out of the game window would be a big plus especially for multi monitor setups, slide the info to monitor 2 / 3 etc.

hell yeah. that's kinda what I meant. like the new preview window for example : )
and yeah I personally know that what I'm looking at and what UI I have on each monitor are different... so maybe they could also make it so instead of having all of your monitors show the same view of your ship, you could set each monitor to show a different controllable camera?
and I know I for one can run multiple clients if I wanted to, so it's not like having two cameras is a giant leap as far as my graphics power goes.

Afaik CCP had a computer at fanfest setup on three screens using a special client that was able to recognize each screen so you didn't have to span your desktop to get the client to stretch. Apparently it also has the perspective problems licked so maybe that will be something nice for the next patch or so.
