Id like to hear sounds for lasers off the phasers in startrek. I dont care if u flame this as im a proud trekkie and i think it would be cool.

going the scientific tour: in theory there is no sound in space because there is no air (which vibrates and creates the sound).
However, INSIDE each ship there IS air and thus when a ship explodes for instance, you can hear that in space for a brief moment before the air dissapates.
Anyone that has the dvd of Babylon5: A Call to Arms (region 2) should check out the extra's. There's a feature where it's all nicely explained :)

SpeedBE if you read up the story is supposed to go that the sound is artificially added by the pod you are in or something.
I posted a thread in the ideas forum over a year ago requestngg different engine sounds for the race' etc. Something like the pod racers are in that star wars film. Would definatley add to the atmosphere!

I wanna hear the beep beep beep of the*****pit, lets have flashing lights in the hud to lets us know that everythings working properly and when we switch the comm up on screen have a radio waspy noise come through the speakers. If using artillary lets hear the boom of a real howitzer echoing through your ship and the death strangled cries of your gang members when they get destroyed in a battle..... hmmm don't know how much of that I could take!

I don't know about you but "sound" adds to the realism of the game.
We have great graphics, why not the sound to match.

Jove ships got a realy cool sound some times i think the devs made jove ships realy cool and ours realy ugly just to make us jealous about the stuff they have and we cant get

Vin Diesel claims he has never hailed a taxi. He just runs up to them at stop lights, opens the door, shoves the current passenger over, and tells the cab driver what his new destination is. |
