The POD software / camera drone software, adds simulated sounds to the pilots sensory inputs so that it feels like they are more there and the silence of space doesn't have detrimental psychological effects

Found it "As you know there is no sound in space, but when we were developing the capsules we found that people wanted to use as many of their senses as possible, thus we added the sound. By letting a computer create three dimensional sound we also add to the awareness you have while in battles, for instance."

The problem is doubled if you live near the airport. And yes, engines do have noises that loop once every time your ship changes direction or accelerates or decelerates. And loop over and over if you use an AB. It's just quiet, and I'm thankful for that. Eraza	Posted - 2004.11.09 23:46:00 - [29] i think only some ships have sounds... look at the exequror for excample... zoom in to it, and you get nice engine sounds every time you change speed, or direction :) and then some other ships.. which i seem to have forgotten atm.. are compleately silent.. :(
