HOLY SMOKES!! reading all the mixed emotions you guys post is utterly amazing. It has kept me entertained since i started reading. Like a couple of peeps have said just chill out wait for the official patch THEN bombard the link and and crash the server with 20k+ people trying to d/l from 1 source....THIS IS MADNESS....but it'll be very amusing to say the least..

I am astonished that so few people are capable of reading and comparing time Zones.
So for all the ret***** mo***s - this is a map of the world time zones.
Timezones
"Now you look on that map, yes, use your eyes.
Now comes the complicated part, the use of your brains.
CCP is located in the timezone with the 0 in the top line of the map.
If you are to the east of ccp you have to add time. Meaning that if you are in germany you have to add one hour to the time where the server is supposed to eb abck up.
Now do the math and for gods sake stop blaming yourself in public"
you expect people to use their brains, these people have 1 thing on their minds EVE...if its not a straight forward answer this question will be repeated...over and over and over......and the recipe for failure, totally agree +1 all the way

upon opening client it said there is a new patch available would you like to update. i didn't actually try to log in, it just popped up upon opening client. you can go to the eve d/l and manually patch it to the 117956 (official patch number)

Originally by: Jelvan Zero issues running EVE w/sound on both Windows Vista and Windows 7. For those Windows XP die hards out there, I hear ya but the argument about Vista/7 using more resources, while true, isn't really that valid with the price of RAM these days. Windows 7 is really impressive and full of usability features way above and beyond what Windows XP offers that makes my day-to-day user experience significantly better. Sure, many people don't need or won't use some features but I think a lot of the resilience about using something new is just because people tend to like what they are used to just or don't like change. Vista got a bad rap from the get go (and deserved it) but it was fine after SP1. Plus, with 64-bit, it means I get to use all 4GB of RAM. I never did bother with XP 64-bit because driver support was never there. I'm still using Windows XP at work and there are countless things I miss during the day that Windows 7 offers.
Anyways, no, I don't work for Microsoft. I just thought I would plug/defend Windows 7 a bit. For those XP die hards, you might be pleasantly surprised with Windows 7 if you gave it a good shake.
Keep up the great work CCP! Can't wait to play EVE tonight.
i totally agree... windows 7 really surprized me

Now we'll just wait for CCP to complete the process, and we'll be able to join the fun.
Which will ironically be timed perfectly to coincide with the peak of wife aggro... *sigh*
LOL well good luck with that...that is worse than any aggro in eve...

Originally by: EliteGuardian Those of you saying there must be issues cos you cant log on after the patch is installed are wrong im affraid. CCP are allowign everyone to download whilst they are still working on the migration to the new version.
Just cos the patch is downloading and you can't log on don't take this as a bad thing, it's actually a good thing that you been able to download the patch before the switch is flipped :)
yeah we still got 1+hrs before they flip the switch....on the unlikely chance that everything is golden it might get flipped sooner but highly doubt it...but wishful thinking..And it would be a good thing to get the patch now while its not all congested with a lot of people trying to d/l at once....wait til later on there will be masses of people trying to d/l patch...glad i was one of the lucky ones to get b4 all that happens
