Rarely. lol. Okay, good for you. I suppose attempts using DS3 and OC-12 connections are too unstable as opposed to what I normally use, 8MB residential service. Your perception of the quality is more valid because at the end of the day that's all any of us really care about. I got news for ya pal, you ain't leadin' but two things right now, Jack and *hit... ...and Jack left town. |

I believe Leeroy is asking for a more reliable Internet - all his previous threads have been dealing with issues downloading EVE Online. Apparently he thinks there's some magic that CCP can do at their end to stop his machine/ISP borking his downloads.
Something like BitTorrent or a download manager might help, by allowing the client to be downloaded over multiple sessions. BitTorrent will also allow error checking to be done on each piece as it's downloaded.
Don't even get me started with this. I've forgotten more about the TCP/IP protocols and P2P than you're likely to ever learn. Bottom line: There is no reason, other than amateur development and sloppy attention to product development and delivery, that CCP could not provide a reliable delivery of its product, yet they accept the current methods and packaging. I'm just tired of lazy mother-effing product teams that live with ****-poor systems, know they can do better, but never do. That, and MMO's are a waste of human life period. The only reason I stuck with EVE was so I could play without playing.
LODE law of MMO's: The value of an MMO is in direct proportion to the amount of time not spent playing it.
Who are the real losers here? Better get ready for that 20 hour gate camp "for the greater good" lol.

I'll take your research alt, what do I have to do to get it exactly? I've never really bought/sold/traded chars and all before... --------------------------- I have to make my own sig break? WTF? I'd love any extra chars/accounts you have. I promise you they'll be included in a really awesome business venture, and I'll help you out if you ever return to the game (just eve-mail me up a few years down the line ). I'll be here until eve closes.

Well, I hate CCP, but I suggest you to check your RAM.
I encountered a situation like yours. Each time I downloaded EVE client or patchs, I got only ****ing annoying corrupted files.
But it came from my computer : I had defective RAM modules. The most funny, is that apart for big downloads, this deficiencies didn't have ANY influence of a daily usage : I could play as I wanted to every big games with no problem/crashs, etc... It is why I thank about CCP at the first place, until I did a Memtest+...
You should do the test. _______ With the NGE, I''m sorry about the mistake we made. We screwed up and didn''t listen to the fans when we should have, and it''s not a mistake we''re going to make again.

It could include the fiasco where they deleted thousands of peoples boot.ini's
I would say its the whole **** way they download and patch a game.

lets not forget they set up a hotline to call, and gave people a free year of gametime if they spent money trying to fix the issue, and other stuff.

Well uhm since i pretty much cannot stand reading gaming forums I'll assume the last page or so is the usual drivel.
I've decided that I'll just pick out someone at random for the alt character and get with those folks so they can collect their "prize" of self-proscribed indoor prison at a term of your choosing.
It's been fun the last few years, just logging in to swap skills. That's right, when i said I was paying not to play i meant it. Probably the last two years of skills have seen maybe 20 hours of playtime. Trust me when I say i couldn't be happier about that.
Anywho - have fun everyone! Remember that there are girls and mountains out there in the big world to climb and spend your real iskies on. I know for some of you it may seem impossible to believe there could be a game more complicated than FC ops in EVE null sec or grease ratting in empire, but trust me girls are the uber challenge. Are you truly elite? You cannot tank that ****z, hax or no. cheers LRK I got news for ya pal, you ain't leadin' but two things right now, Jack and *hit... ...and Jack left town. |

So much hate. "Girls are the uber challenge" <--- lol? Maybe you should stop referring to them as challenges and try and be their friend and perhaps they will not seem so challenging.
