Making the game more of a gamble than a safe calculation.
Uh ya .. but I assure you there is an algorithm in the software.
obviously.
his point was that the game would be better if we didn't know what it was, thus preventing anally retentive Microsoft Excel warriors from calculating stuff outside the game... instead of actually playing it (and finding out the best fittings etc by using empirical methods) ~~~~)\~~~~~\o/~~~~
yeah but no but yeah but no but |

Maybe then HE should ignore that information instead of trying to force everyone to his viewpoint. Maybe others of us like knowing how to calculate things and love the intellectual aspect of the game.
--------- The words "Exciting" and "Safe" are mutually exclusive; pick one. |

What does intellect have to do with you having an algoritm fetish? A game should in my mind be something where you have to take a certain amount of risks, calculated or otherwise.
If you want to intellectualize it I have science in my corner with intermittent reinforcement being the by far strongest incentive for people playing games as opposed to the farmers reaping the benefits of their carefully calculated formulas ad naseum.

Yes. That much is clear. However, that does NOT give you the right to force your opinions on the rest of us. I would prefer to know how to calculate things instead of the trial and error method you propose.
