I run a different kind of caracal. Use those long range missles to your advantage!
5 x Xr3200s
1x 10MN MWD 1x Cap Battery II 2x cap recharger II
2x Capacitor Power Relays
Result? I have 1048 Cap with a 120ish recharge rate. I am acctualy going to drop one of the Cap Recharger IIs and throw something else on... not sure what. But with this set up I can turn my MWD on and never EVER run out of cap. Keep around 60km from target and hurl missles at him.
Still tryin to figure out what I want on that one med slot.

I would also recommend Otwo Ihe's/CDLPeacemaker's setups, they are extremely easy to use and require almost no significant skills except for the MWD, so it's great for a new player I've been using that setup since my char was 29 days old to do level 3 missions, never had any difficulty whatsoever with them yet. Just follow their advice, warp in at 60km, keep your distance and fire away! |

Could always drop a CPR and replace with a ballistic control, for a little more damage output instead...

Won't bother suggesting a setup as they have already been done to death :) but I definitely recommend getting hold of a Scourge BPO and research it up to a decent level (failing that buy some decent Scourge BPCs from escrow).
This way you can refine the loot from your kills and manufacture your own missiles instead of having to buy them.
Some lvl 3 missions you can go through over 100 scourges, which will eat into your profits if you have to purchse them again.
Think you've chosen the best cruiser if you're planning to go NPC hunting and missions, it's fast for picking up loot from cans, keeping at range & huge damage from the 5 heavy launchers ---
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

nice easy setup, lots of big launchers but would reccomend you play around with maybe 2 thunderbolt loaded tubes and 3 scourge loaded. Reason being that the Thunderbolts really eat through shields leaving a nice ripe hull for the scourges
