Are we gonna have some patch to fix this issue of Dominion not working on mac . we are losing money and time. If so , how many days mac players will have to wait for it?.

Having seen all the Mac issues in the forum, I followed Raketefrau's advice of a completely clean install. Absolutely no issues whatsoever.

I've been freightering around continually since just after downtime, a lot of the time on autopilot. What's supposed to be the problem?
Patched last night, not a fresh install. No crashes, hangs or noticed problems.

When you are having problems please add the following to your post:
- Type of mac - Version of OS X - Graphics card on your mac
Also, reporting the bugs you encounter is also very helpful.

Will they fix the corrupt planet graphics in a patch soon? It's the only problem I encountered on my mac so far.

Edited by: Mara Rinn on 02/12/2009 21:57:49 I'm stuck at the point just after the "authenticating" bar has reached 100% and disappeared, but before the Dominion title screen disappears to make way for the character selection screen.
There are two clients running on this 17" iMac Core 2 Duo with Radeon x1600 graphics card. The second client is rock solid stable, sound turned off but the character is mostly sitting in station.
I have tried deleting the cache, settings and wineserver folders, that didn't work. Ultimately I had to delete the preferences folder for this installation, turned sound off, and I haven't crashed for at least 10 minutes.

it happened the same to me Hisara , I do all what the others did , it works for 20 minuts , then it happens again , it gets , conection lost inside the game , eve crashes but dont close , very tricky to leave the game , then if you wanna restart the game , comes that same thing , and nothing happens .
If you wanna go inside the game again , you have to delete this file in caches com.transgaming.EVEOnline, then restart , then enter de game again , but it will crash in a few more minuts again.

My client locks up in warp. Only common factor in 7-odd lockups today was that it freezes while warping...sometimes beginning of warp, sometimes during, and sometimes coming out of warp.
Client completely freezes and have to option-cmd-esc to get out.

Hi,
If I delete my Eve preferences folder, Eve will run nicely for a while before it becomes unstable, freezes or knocks me off the server. Now, I've personalized my keyboard every time I've played and maybe Eve runs nicely if you keep the default settings. But I want to play with my personal shortcuts and it would be a pain in the neck if I couldn't anymore.
On the positive side, the graphics and the browser are huge improvements.

a little more info:
in my fsck_hfs.log I see the following errors when client locks up:
sender: [0x0-0x16016].com.transgaming.EVEOnline message: 0003: Protocol error: recvmsg: Message too long
After about 20 of those errors one second apart I get:
Sender: cider_noui[262] Message: Error reading affiliate.plist:The file "affiliate.plist" does not exist. and Sender: com.apple.launchd[94] Message: ([0x0-0x1f01f].com.transgaming.EVEOnline[261]) Stray process with PGID equal to this dead job: PID 265 PPID 1 cider_noui
Gibberish to me, but thought it might help. Can't find eve logs on this machine.

iMac OS X 10.5.8 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro Ran for 20 mins after patch, DC'ed when approaching gate in mission, no response clicking client after. Deleted preference folder, ran for another 20mins or so, DC'ed again when approaching jump gate, no response after. Deleted and reinstalled the whole game, ran just fine until another DC, still when approaching jump gate (coincidence?). Client is able to start this time, but unable to log in.

Have started having issues since approx 6pm yesterday evening. Before that everything was stable and I experienced no crashes or problems with the client. Last night the client froze several times when attempting to jump through stargates, after the third freeze the client refused to start up unless the eve preferences folder was deleted. Logged in this morning to find the same thing, client starts and works fine up until I select a character, then freezes as it tries to enter the game.

Hope this gets sorted soon!

I got on once after Dominion launched before the new patch. Since then I go to the logon screen and it seems to be going well, the lady says coneecting, the little bard move and do their stuff but them it simply freezes on the "Dominion" backdrop. I cant Escape to the logoff window, I have to Command Tab to get to the desk top and manually force quit. Help :) ~Lokiish

Same problems as everyone else. cache/preferences/audio workaround has enabled me to play for all of 30 minutes before a second crash.
MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz L2 Cache:6 MB Memory:4 GB OSX
Its clear that CCP did not properly beta test this patch on any mac. Hate so say it, but the consistency and scale of this problem with all mac users should have been noticed and fixed long before the release. Within 48 hours of patch release there are 2 pages of fail with multiple posts/thread reported on every mac system and OS past and present. Are they outsourcing their programming or something? Pardon my frustration, but im paying 15$ a month for this game.
I would much rather have the patch delayed for a few days while they check for major problems than have to pay for a non functioning product. This strikes me as rather unprofessional.
Thanks to the Dev for posting the workaround and responding to problems. hopefully he can get CCPs butt in gear.

The client froze twice, the second time in session change. I'm currently unable to launch EVE at all.

Request: please make the fix a patch to the current build rather than a colossal external download. Thanks and good luck with the code! |

Same problem here... I log in and get the status bars. After that still on the log in screen. Never get to the character screen. WTF! Why do us mac users always get the shaft. Very time a new patch comes around we can expect to get bent over for a week or so. Ya think they would have figured it out by now. Been playing eve for a little over a year and every patch I'm afg for a few days. Not by choice ind you... Come on guys, throw us a bone! We still pay like the pc guys! mac book pro mac OS X 10.5.8 2.16 ghz intel core duo ATI Radeon X1600

ack, just bootcamp it- if Bill Gates wants pirated copies of his software going around because we're not all going to pay 300$ for his joke program... so be it... but from what I've heard, there's going to be a lot of players for sale on ebay instead...
