Almost every time i come out of warp to a gate/station the game stalls for about 20-30 seconds. Like it's "loading" all the players/planet gibberish. This never happened before Dominion. It's gotten so bad that i have to turn on autopilot so the game will jump me while i'm frozen so i don't get suicide ganked.
This has ALWAYS been the case on the test server. As in you guys had months to fix this problem but you didn't.
This last time i was transporting 100ish million in goods when i came out of warp on top of the gate, and the game locked up and crashed. Now i can't log back in because the game will not go past the splash screen.
If i log back in and find my ship suicide ganked then i expect you guys to reimburse me the 100 million isk that was lost because of your buggy code.

Turn off sound. Try deleting, in order, any "wineserver" folders you find inside your EVE Online Preferences folder. If that doesn't help, delete the "cache" folder in the EVE Online Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility. If that doesn't help, your EVE Online preferences folder, and make sure you turn off sound before trying to log in.

What is the deal with turning off sound? I will try it, as well as deleting the wineserver files. I've already tried deleting the cache, with no success.
Also, the freezing does not seem to have much to do with how many players are at the gate/station. I've had it freeze up often when there are exactly 0 players present.

I don't like the posture that mac users should have to do gimmick solutions to solve a problem on the client and be happy while we wait. Especially if it is a problem that could have been averted with more testing before release.
We pay as much as every other player, so there should be no quality difference, imho.

The game is flaky on Windows to start with, then it goes through the Cider nonsense to be playable on the Mac, so all the edge cases which narrowly avoid crashing the game on Windows/DirectX9 end up actually causing problems on Cider.
As for turning off sound, I suspect that the sound system is causing most of my lockup problems. Turn on sound, I get problems within 10 minutes. Turn off sound, the game works again.
Dodgy, dodgy game.

My freeze issues sound (har har) very much like yours Gongface. And turning off the sound has taken care of my immediate problems. I haven't had a freeze since doing so.
It's sadly not a universal solution though, as I suspect there is at least one other client killing bug around that causes an actual CTD.
