Their are definately some odd people in this game!!
I was mining in my Omen a few days ago, a Raven warps into the belt and straight away makes a bee line for my can.
I immediately stop mining(no point letting an ore thief get anything extra)and fill up my cargo hold leaving all of 600 Scordite in the can.
The guy comes up very close and sort of meanders around me for a minute or two. I decide to go make a cup of coffee whilst waiting for him to get bored and go away. Just as I walk out the room he tries to start a converstion with me, which I ignore.
When I come back a couple of minutes later the screen is full of Concorde Police guys and the remains of a Raven.
So he lost a Raven cos I wouldnt talk to him!!!!
I pick up his meagre possesions. 30 minutes later a Corp mate of his, demands his stuff back,
All this happened in 0.9 space.
Surely someone in a Raven knows you cant just open fire without consequences in high security space?

What you do not seem to realise is that in this day and age a person could get him/herself into a Raven in give or take 2-3 weeks by finding the right corp or just having access to funds.
If this is an alt it would not be a problem, yet most of the time its just a complete n00b who ends up in these so called "Caldari Navy power-houses" so it does not surprise me one bit to hear that something like this has happened.
As for his corp mate coming along to reclaim this n00bs l00t I would simply give him the finger, at the moment he decided to get himself ganked by Concord the stuff that was left there is considered Salvage and if your the closest person to the goods you have the right to it.
Lessons learnt the hard way are the best lessons learnt.

Edited by: John Keyhotay on 22/11/2004 04:03:54 Big LOLs at this one. I'm still newish, but the limited amount of time I get to play means I'll be considered a newbie for a good while yet. The closest thing to this that has happened to me was when I came across the remains of a fight in Oursulaert. Picture the scene: about 20 cargoes drifting around, some of them popping out of existence already, and one cruiser zooming among them, harvesting. I pop over in my Tristan and send the guy in the cruiser a message: 'OK if I harvest too?' See, I was still that new ;)
He replies: "No."
So I'm still on the newbie help channel, relaying all this, and everyone says it's OK to go and help myself. I'm unsure if I'm being egged on to my doom or not, but the promise of loot is too tempting and, as one reply tells me, those cargoes will all be gone before the cruiser can collect most of them, so what's his problem?
Anyway I picked up some good stuff, and then the cruiser guy sends me this message (I quote verbatim): "You vill die." Yes, he said 'vill', Transylvanian-style. Look down at your QWERTY keyboard: it wasn't a typo by him. OOOOH I'M SCARED. Actually, I was scared, and convinced that I was about to be pulverised. The newbie channel helpers had to calm me down!
Heh, and then I went to the nearest station and sold all the stuff I'd collected, and bought my first railgun and some heavy new skills. I vas very happy.
And the corp I eventually joined is not one where they give you the galaxy on a plate. It's up to me to attain a certain level of experience before I can truly reap the rewards of being a corp member. Giving me a cruiser or BS straightaway and sending me forth would really be a handicap in the long run.

Nivesi's story is a good example of why corps shouldn't give noobs BSes.
