Edited by: Matte Kudasai on 04/12/2009 08:43:57 I've seen alot of ppl looking for art/new screenshots/ screensavers/ etc with the new graphics. I personaly looked for a screensaver. I love the game, environment, everything, and the new planet graphics are amazing. So, as a tribute to the great work CCP has done with the latest expansion, i've taken a few screenshots of some planets, added some in-game soundtrack and came up with a humble screensaver. I don't know if there are any legal issues, or if CCP approves, it's their decision to allow this small gift to be given to others. i don't own anything, it's all CCP amazing work. all i did is to put together during an early morning some in-game elements. it's a short executable (free of viruses/spyware/etc) created with a shareware program (sry but couldn't remove the watermark :( ). http://eve-files.com/dl/211575
Enjoy!!!

First reaction: Next reaction: What i got was ok. It was something i was really hoping to find at some point. It fits perfectly with my wallpaper (the red planets and brutixs etc.) and my XP theme "sublime" (WindowsBlinds 7)

Edited by: Haxfar Portlaind on 04/12/2009 13:23:54 on another note. A bit more variation, regarding colors and size. It's a bit monotonous to see three same sized and same grey scale blue color, after each other... But as said, great.
*edit" have it been uploaded on user made files section?

regarding the upload section, i should probably appologize. this is my first post on forum and mistakes are probably many. in the future i'll try to keep the mistakes to a minimum. anyway, i'm glad to see ppl have read and half of them already got the screensaver. i hope they like it and, why not, leave an impression. a comment from time to time, a little bump could keep this topic on front page to be seen by as many as possible.
tks for appreciation

1.in the top left corner there's the watermark of the software i've used. unfortunately the software wasn't free. it's a shareware and until it's bought/registered the watermark will be present. 2. actualy there is. the screensaver was made using 32 screenshots of various planets. one or two of the screenshots have a planet that realy looks like Earth. thing is they are played random by default. in order to see all of them, go to desktop > right click > properties > screen saver > settings > on the general tab u have "Item oreder" with three options: sequential, random, shuffle. choose sequential and all screenshots will be played without repeating themselves and you will be able to see our "Earth clone"

First of all, very nice piece of work! Secondly, which song is that?
Great job again on the screensaver! "The Amarr are really gonna be screwed when pilots start fitting mirrors to their ships." |

The three songs can be found in Res/Jukebox where the game is installed. the songs are ambient009 (Below the asteroids), ambient011 (Surplus of rare artifacts) and ambient050 (Minmatar rebel alliance).

DL the file and execute it. Simple as that.

Yep, still dumb. It downloads as a .RAR file, and when I try to open it, it says the program is incompatible. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, since no one else is having trouble.

Ok I usually don't do screensavers (at all) but for this occasion I decided to try it out...
The idea is pretty good... What bothers me though is that pretty much the same can be accomplished making an eve folder or something and dumping some nice screenshots in there and then putting the screen saver to slide trough there... It might not have the nice fade effect maybe but I could use other/better images and it would allow me to (somewhat) adjust speed... hmmmm...
So for a slideshow screensaver, these are the points that can use improvement: - Remove demotext/find out how to make a screensaver without your ****ty shareware program - Higher resolution screenshots/better quality (my desktop res = 1920x1200, quite standard... Images had some AA on it etc, should be best possible...) - More interesting images? Currently they're a bit 'dull'... busy backgrounds/screensavers aren't my thing but having something extra on the foreground might help. - Currently uses codecs, probably for the effects, see if you can do without though...
In the end it's not really a screensaver, but an automatic slideshow... What would be interesting is a picture of a planet.... slowly rotating... Or a live gate... (now I know how hard this is, especially the gate one, but thats what real screensavers are...) That change vista maybe once a minute at most... and have movement in them (though not too much, it's not a movie).

Is this what you are talking about? Stellar Dream
This would be really cool with an Apoc flyby.

I have three monitors and it runs a different pic on each monitor. I just love it! I haven't taken the time to figure out where to put the screenies that I take in-game. Once I do that, this will really add variety to the slideshow. Been running it for a while and had no problems with the app.
