Dear CCP.
Please keep your Metal Scraps. I don't need them. Is there any way to give em back (I could make a contract to your Alliance if it's okay).
Besides, I just realized that you, dear CCP, ruin my game everytime a little more you change something. Isn't it to much to ask that you fix all known issues - bugs and more - BEFORE you roll out stuff nobody asked for? I'm still a paying customer and when i buy something that is broken, I ask for a fix.
And then you roll out new stuff, please make sure it's tested and it works. I really don't need the n-th bugfix for a new feature you haven't tested enough every time i log in.
That's all for today.
Anyone who agrees with me feel free to put your "signed" here.

My game seems to work okay. I have to have my Grandson Jimmy start it becasue fer whatever reason I can never figure it out. That Billy's a good kid I tell ya. He helped me hang two new bird feeders in the yard today. |

Despite awkward rant, I do have to agree with OP, dragging a wreck billions of millimeters across the vastness of space only to find a single Metal Scrap in it is the most horrible of trolls.

the paltry amount of trit you get per scrap isnt worth the effort involved to target it, tractor it and loot it. many times you are in range to just start salvaging, and taking the time to tractor/target loot a measly scrap is a pain. i would enjoy if every wreck could drop 1-3 scraps to make things interesting, and as someone else stated auto stacking the individual scraps would be great. |

They wanted to get rid of Meta 0 Loot so they just replaced it in the loot tables with Metal Scraps.
Every time you're supposed to loot a Meta 0 iten you get a Metal Scrap now. My guess: They figured out that it would be a little bit of work to adjust the loot tables.
In the end you just get a lot less ISK out of your loot because CCP wanted to save some time.
Srew the isk, it doesn't matter, but please get the chance of looting scaps down to the level it was before.
It's just messy.

I'm hoping CCP increases the drop rate of metal scraps to match the amount of ore that was previously being dropped, only this time it would all be tritanium. That would put the veldspar price back down where it belongs.

Between the loot nerf and the crappy way the UI handles looting I hardly bother anymore. I know the loot nerf was to buff production and mining, but the time wasted with the UI is the nail in the coffin for it.

Metal scraps were one of the many nerfs to Lvl 4s that the Lvl 4 hating community refuses to acknowledge. Even when the only rewards is a bent penny and salvage comprised of metal scraps, people will still rage against Lvl 4s because they are game breaking.

It's not even difficult.
1) tractor wrecks in
2) open wrecks (& deactivate tractor beams)
3) active tractor beams on next group of wrecks
4) Click "Loot all"... click, click, click, click
5) active salvagers on empty wrecks and return to 2.
Continue until everythin has been looted and salvaged and warp out -> ??? -> Profit? |

I liked salvaging, I would run level 4's for just under 2 hours with 3 Tengus, ditch the bookmarks into corp hangar, log and sign on my salvaging account.
No drone alloys, less wrecks with salvage in and those dang metal scraps.
6 accounts became 5 as soon as the plex expired.
The introduction of this stupid inventory system that worked perfecty well before, 2 more accounts expired and TBH unless the developers stop placing stumbling blocks in the way of the players, then as my other accounts expire they will not be renewed either.
Credit card looks better than it has in years. |

The new UI is a bit annoying though. I guess some of the newbies are fortunate with starting on this UI, so they don't quite feel like sae pain we do.

It's not an unsubbing post, it's a "I can't bear to log on and see what you done to my baby" post.
Words cannot begin to express my dissapointment at CCP.
This game was fantastic and a joy to play but because they have newer and better projects in the pipeline they have drained the brains from EvE's development team and put the apprentices in charge.
I'm not unsubbing, I'm waiting for the CEO to get his sales report and scream WTF. Only then might something be done and I will reactivate my accounts possibly.

Metal Scraps are are the new salvage gold, m8. Each unit = .01m3 and refines into a couple hundred units of trit. As stated above, 5m3 of Scrap Metal is several hundred thousand isk.

That's not so bad when compared to scanning down an exploration site that only has one can. The most horrible of trolls is finding out that one can is empty.
I think if the random generator whatever lands on no loot, then it should always default to one Metal Scrap, that would be a hell of a lot better than getting nothing.
Lately it seems to me NPC's wrecks are showing more empty than containing loot. As for having Metal Scraps mixed in with the loot from wrecks, I think that's fine. I mean come on, you just destroyed a metal ship, there should always be at least one or more units of Metal Scraps in it. Definitely better than having a bunch of empty wrecks. Also, having all NPC ships only drop one Metal Scrap when destroyed is a joke, there's a hell of a lot more metal contained in a Battleship than in a Frigate.
As for Metal Scraps replacing Meta 0 items as loot drops because said items can be manufactured from BPO's. that may be true but the amount and various types of minerals gained from reprocessing Meta 0 items drastically outshines what's gained from a few Metal Scraps.
Looking at that change along with the removal of Rogue Drone loot, the announcement of new ORE Frigate, small changes to ORE Mining Barges / Exhumers as well as redoing Racial ships by removing the Mining Frigates / Cruisers all seems to show an awful big push to force players into getting their minerals by only mining asteroids in a specific ship class. Which as everyone knows, that specific ship class is constantly being systematically hunted down and destroyed. I for one have no desire to get into that ship class or pursue an Industrial Career just to gather up a few minerals to make some ammo.
So I say bring on more Metal Scraps being dropped as loot and increase the amount contained in wrecks as dictated by it's ship class. Could even add different types of Metal Scraps as well. Better yet, just have each unit of Metal Scrap reprocess into small equal amounts of all mineral types currently available in game. |
