Well I thought Eve was optimized after Sisi but apparently I was wrong.
Eve has been frequently locking up on undocks, camera rotations and system jumps. It seems to be related to the textures on planets or something but I am getting audio artifacts, up to 30 second game freezes (which is just deadly in PVP) and low FPS.
Dominion is acting sluggish on my machine and it actually just allowed a Hyperion on a gate to escape me. I had him tackled with a point and then my game froze. I was freaking out because I hadn't activated anything else and here I am on a gate in a cruiser with a Hyperion tackled taking sentries.
FUN.
20 seconds later my game unfreezes and I'm 14km away on the OTHER side of the approach and lost point. He jumps through and I completely lose him.
THIS IS NOT FAIR. CCP my computer has recently been updated to today's standards (an E6300 Dual core Pentium was giving me 60 FPS in windowed mode on the old Apocrypha client!) and now I struggle to get 15 in windowed mode.
These lockups are unbearable. They prevent seamless movement from anywhere to anywhere and are disruptive to gameplay.

Tried Non-windowed mode? Gives DirectX access to more resources as it doesn't like rendering a 2D desktop and a 3D environment at the same time.
Also, you post 1 complaint every day. Consider reducing your sugar intake. --- The Gate: Lol, try targeting me in a fleet fight. The Station: No U. |

If I didn't care about Eve would I leave or "complain?"

Runs great on my machine, Should consider trying to troubleshoot the problem and not just cry about it.
i'd probably start with something along the lines of remove/disable sound card, and try different video drivers. pretty quick and easy to do...

I've noticed FPS drops around certain planets, however I haven't had lockups like you describe. Sucks, but your best bet is to bugrep as best you can.

Try reinstalling, try updating your drivers, try clearing your cache, try defragging/routine system maintenance.
If all of that fails, spend a little less on PLEX cards and update your PC. The views expressed by me in my forum posts are in no relation to my Corporation or my Alliance. I swear my cat made me type them. |

PS: i am laying right now on a 5 year old totally piece of crap laptop thru a wireless connection in a snowstorm from the frozen depths of the canadian praries, and omwtfbbq! im suffering no problems.
