My corp is your average carebear corp, just trying to make a living. However, i found an evemail today in my mailbox saying some totally unknown corp declared war on my corp. It quickly became clear (after some talk) that they went to war on us because of some personal against one of our members. So, member gone, case dismissed.
However, this is really disturbing. Any pirate wannabe corp that goes bored can just randomly declare war on any "carebear" corp to get their free pass at some empire fun. The tendency is that corps' that are fed up by 0.0 PvP moves into empire space and declares war. The question then would be obvious. Is EvE turning into a game for the triggerhappy only? As i see it, non-aggressive corps' can really just sit by and hope that no one actually aims at them. Fun trying to build up an honest, profitable establishement. The guys with the guns will own you anyway. Good luck!

Edited by: Jozef Meurtrier on 12/11/2004 02:20:44 I think history teaches you that 'boredom' and 'fun' are perfectly sound reasons to declare war on ones neighbors.. so why not in EVE?
Hire some merc's, get in an alliance or chicken out and start the war evading. Edit: or get angry and turn green. |

plus there is some flawed logic in your statement :) if they are pirates they probably have bad faction/standing or security... so would be kind of hard for them to get into empire space to attack you regardless that they have gone to war with you support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

Hmm.
Maybe if the game wasn't so ultra-consent PvP-wise in 0.0, empire would be a bit safer.
The usual targets in 0.0 for a single pirate use:
- Instas, - Log off exploit, - Instas and WCS, - Safe spot, - Triple MWD, - Triple MWD and WCS.
And so on...
Now, who to blame for the people going back to empire to get some action? CCP, I'd say. -- Stories: #1 --

another thing i hate and is kinda my fault: lesson learned from it: nvr let a friend use an alt account that is the CEO of a corp,
im in the GGE, found out yesterday that my friend declared war on the council, so i retracted it, banned my friend from using my alt, promoted another TOPS corp member to CEO and sent the alt to the biomass. I log on today and the council has declared war on the GGE, reason: becasue i am the founder of TOPS.
blaming one player for a corp war just becasue he is the founder of the other corp is one stupid reason to declare war.

Action?
Blowing up essentially defenseless miners & Industrialists?
That's quite lame...
I think for anyone who plays with such low morals, is just inept at PvP out in 0.0 space... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

come on really. No one is defenseless.......you can afford guns and ammo you cna fight.
You cnat afford ships get into bis fleets and civ gatling your enemie to death.
You get a gun from day one your not defensless. They just choose to not bother with it and make money freely. Tough you got a war declared either run off or fight its pretty simple.

Oh FFS would you stop whinging. You want to know why people use those tactics? Because most pirates in 0.0 camp a gate and have 2-3 BS, and 3-6 frigates/intys. Do you expect people like me to attack you for the hell of it in our cruisers or frigates?
You don't want none-consentual PvP you just want easy gankage. If you had it your way there would be *less* targets for you in 0.0 because lone ships would die at the first 0.0 gate. And then people would only move into 0.0 in large groups which are much harder to attack then lone ships.
And CCP have already fixed most of your complaints, there are these things known as mobile warp disruptors, I suggest all pirates go and buy one and STFU about people getting past them. I normally travel with no-instas and only dual MWD (which I would run no matter what because I normally go 40 jumps deep into 0.0). And I never log off unless I have an emergency. Yet I have never been caught by pirates in 0.0.
Three days ago I ran at an Apoc camping P3EN-E in an *Ibis* and got my pod through the gate. I have also been chased by 4 interceptors belonging to TPS and gotten away (though it was a fun chase). I have 1.6 million skill points. And the other day I lost my travel kestrel (which saw me through many a TPS camp) to a PA camp. Maybe you pirates should go ask PA how to camp a gate, because they are apparently better at it then most of you. --------------------------------------------------

Erm... The things I mentioned happen when I go out on my own. Okay?
So don't tell me what I want, I am always up for a 1 vs 1, even if I know I get spanked.
Stating a fact like "EVE is an ultra-consent PvP (combat part) game" is not whining. If you can't face the truth, fine, not my fault. -- Stories: #1 --

Go and say thank you CCP for making sentries uber and putting them into low sec empire in the first place, thus nerfing TRUE piracy to hell and back (talking about ransoming people like Space Invaders did - you think there is no reason why they disbanded?)... just quit whining about not having any safety anywhere in a pvp oriented game where piracy is advertised on the back of the box. Live with it and adapt... ____________________________________
