Im not gonna flame you guys but... first off, i love what you all hae done with the graphix in game, but for those of us that have a system that is 2 or 3 years old, it tends to be a bit much for the system to handle. I myself have a system that is over 5 years old but it has been kept up, EI vid card, ram and the like and truthfully, EVE pushes it hard,... Before the domination patch, i could run EVE wide open with all the goodies turned on and the vid on its highest. Now im seeing that the vid is so massive that on the old settings however, im having to turn things way back just to get it to the point that i can play it. This kind of upsets me to the point that im disenfranchised agenst the game only because ive got this bright new shiny patch for EVE and i cant use it. Done get me wrong, ive seen the new graphix after sitting infront of the station and i let it al load, ive warped around looking at all the stuff , all shiny,...new looks good actually, but for a system like mine, its a bit much.
Im running an ASUS A8V agp board, 4 gigs of ram too vid card is an AGP 3850 and actually before dominion the ting jsut flew,...fast. frame rate in the 60 frames,..no lag, no jiters,...ran really good. Ive herd from the other pilots in the corp and they have been all experiencing the same ting, and yes they all have machines that are 3 , 4, 5 years old, but good enuf to run the pre dominion software. resetting the vid adjustments work to a point, to the point that were back to pre dominion settings or even worse, put playable. CCP, i dont know if theres anything that can be done with that, but i jsut wanted to put that little bug in your ear, this is a game that i love to play,, one that ive spent a lot of time ingame and would realy hate to see go by the wayside. This vid issue is what is making the game un-interesting to me, whats the good of the high end graphix if it takes like 30 seconds or longer for it to load! you could be shot up before the screen refreshes,....and to tell you the truth, i dont have the money to put into another game rig right now. This rig is about as good as it gets. Is there anything yo can do?,...like for these systems give us the old planets?

ClatuVeradaNicto flysafe and keep the resolution down so you dont get the lag monster biting your ships tail fins off Rid****
I don't want to be mean, but a 5 year old PC is a 5 year old PC.
It's going to be significantly slower then a 2 year old pc and a LOT slower then a current PC.
UPGRADE YOUR ****
Quick story.
when I upgrade my main PC, the parts that get taken out get put in a 2nd pc. The parts taken out of the 2nd PC go into the pile of "OH **** XXXX Part just died, I'll use this till I can replace it" pile of parts.
Now, I upgrade each part on average of every 12-18 month. I don't buy the latest and greatest, but I do buy parts when their price has evened out after the initial introduction.
This means I spend the least amount of money for the longest decent "lifespan".
Now, by the sound of it, my "2nd" PC, with parts that are all at least 18 months old is still several years newer then your PC.
I see about a 50% FPS difference in those two PC's.
The end result is that a PC kept up to date will work better then a PC that won't.
For 500$ you can get a system that's probobly almost twice as fast as what you're running.
If you can't afford to upgrade your computer, then you need to reprioritise your expenses. I've been unemployed for almost 12 months now. But I can still play EVE fine due to my normal round of upgrades.
Upgrade routinely and you won't be left behind.
Or as an old addage went from the first gen of FPS's....
UPGRADE OR DIE.
