So there I was, set up to find me a wormhole and take a peek at its far side. Maybe find something worth a closer look, maybe do the wakeup call for a few Sleepers ... First thing I see on the other side: an Ishkur. Next thing: I'm targetted. Next to that: "XY is attempting to scramble your warp drive". WTF?! What's so wimpish about posting "Hello. My hole. Get yourself another. Or else." into Local first before you set out to drone the other guy to death? Is the Ishkur really attracting that very special brand of people who will only suffer others to breathe when under heavy sedation or with a dozen cops with guns enforcing the peace?

Nothing wrong with this at all. The guy was just looking for some easy kills. Here's a survival tip: When you pop out of the other side of a wormhole, you are already within jumping distance to go back, so unless the hole closes you're in good shape. Move towards the hole and spam the jump button.
Also, always a good idea to jump through with a cloaky ship first, just to see what is on the other side. Not always an option if running solo, though. WH space, just like null-sec, is dangerous and nasty and you need to take steps to protect yourself.

"You people" refers to the type of player who shoots first, loots later and never asks questions at all. Acting on the assumption that if such players look into forum threads at all, they'd start right here, looking for new ways to make another life a wee bit more miserable. If you're none of them, disregard the "you" and read only "people".

And if someone gets the opportunity to kill you, do you really expect them not to take it? Especially in WH space? Honestly?

The problem with "Hello. My hole. Get yourself another. Or else." into Local first before you set out to drone the other guy to death?" is if the person you are speaking with sets out to drone the other guy to death, you are down one ship--kind of like what happened to you. While civility can only occur if both parties volunteer to be civil, savagery always works 50% of the time. (Or more, if you're hot stuff.) Ergo when in uncivilized space, do as the Romans do.

Setting 1: *Neutral jumps into system at my gate, same shiptype, fit, SP, implants, skill as me. We will presume we are both in comedy blaster vigils.* Mickey> Hi there friend, please ready yourself to be warp scrambled and player versus playered! Other guy> Same to you good friend, forgive me for not wishing you good luck!
Player versus player combat ensues and a victor emerges based on pilot skill. It was very even given both players decided to banter in local before the fight.
Mickey> That was a splendid fight old chap! Other guy> Indeed! Good show!
Setting 2: *Neutral jumps into system at my gate, same situation* Mickey> Well met new contact! Prepare yourself for player versus player action!
While I have been typing this, the ***got has tackled me and is currently overloading his neutrons into my shield. I die like a *****.
Mickey> That was a good fight! A pity I was not fast enough! Other guy> gf
So, as you can see, it pays to shoot first and ask questions later. And of course, some people just don't talk at all, they take the game super seriously.

What? WHAT KIND OF **** FIT VIGILS HAVE YOU BEEN FLYING!? NEUTRONS ARE THE ONLY WAY TO GO (also I can't use lasers). edit: oh, just realised you might be meaning that I said lasers and blasters. P sure I didn't, but u no if I said lasers, I meant blasters.

Also: the lasers do more EM damage, so they go through the shield faster, then you have the kinetic and thermal for armour/structure which is pretty ok.

Let me introduce you to Setting #3: there's a ship at your gate. It's a travelling scanner/hacker/archaeologist who can find some pretty valuable stuff in your system that you wouldn't even think about. AND lead you there, and make it accessible. For a share. However, you'd much prefer the *KaBOOM!*-"Ransom me 20 mio or you die!" chain of events? (And one must be pretty desperate to pay you off on the slim hope you won't kill the pod anyway ...) Your loss, in total. I'd think.

What.
First of all, if he's in a wormhole he's probably got a probe launcher equipped, or has another person in there with him that can scan. Your ability to scan most likely means little to nothing to him.
Second of all, what's to say the ship is not combat fit and isn't going to ninja attack when you least expect it?
Third of all, by destroying you he ensures the safety of his wormhole. Maybe you intruded upon his family's home and he wants you to get out. You didn't ask when you came in, and he's simply kicking you out of his house the quickest way he knows how.
Maybe you should try to see things from the other persons perspective. He probably saw you as a robber of some description and wants to protect his wife/kids etc.
Don't be so quick to judge people imo.

I might try that, can't see many people on killmails with setups like that. Must mean they are super effective I will name it squirtle power after my favourite vidcon.

The only thing the Ishkur pilot missed, is reading this thread, checking his killmail info, and commencing to wardecing your corp into oblivion.
You will find that people who don't cry about it, and actually ask questions about what they could have done better, get some small measure of respect amongst their peers.
*checks your info.

Well, I didn't die. Neither did my ship. How is it nobody ever doubts an Ishkur would win against anything it decides to mess with? Nonetheless, with a little bit of civilized behaviour it could have been avoided. Oops. Wrong game, apparently.
