PVP is only boring to noobs, which is a problem that they havent figured out PVP yet and it's mostly EVE's fault in having a steep learning curve, but it's also probably because they've only fought their corpies and lost in lowsec to real PVPers. Once you get into a ceptor and start having ceptor dogfights you'll see the skill required in EVE.
Depends on the ship, but only in a very tactical and specialized ship is this even remotely true. Same skills, same ship, boils down to who fires first. Not to say I hate EvE, I just know where things need to be improved.

Originally by: Eden Vassai How about, stop trying to troll bait me and ruin the thread, and instead maybe come up with a useful argument instead of calling me a noob just because you can't seem to come up with anything better? The only reason I see a disagreement with this is because certain people in corporations simply don't want to be knocked off their pedestal and be forced to have to actually use some skill when fighting instead of just mass ganking with their huge fleets.
You mean that i'm trying to troll bait a troll ? And useful argument, so following your logic i should go to lets say symposium about cloning, yell that their current ways to do it are wrong, say my theory about sawing kit and hot water (long story) and then demand to hear 3485934934 pages long answer explaining why i'm wrong. Instead i will be laughed at and sent to read some basics about cloning. Same goes here. Oh and again your lack of researching any topic you open your cakehole about shows up, i didn't have a kill with more than 6 assists for over a year.
A fleet engagement can be entertaining, and there are a lot of variables to consider, but the way it actually works, I.E. the actual gameplay, is more like a spreadsheet and for us mere humans without foresight, nothing more than a roll of the dice for smaller or solo PvP. (If you encounter someone that trumps your fit and get scrambled, that's it. Either get friends to help in time if you're lucky, or you are dead. No way to target specific sub-systems, no way to use the environment to your advantage, etc...

ITT: people who have no clue how heavy turrets on large vessels or missiles actually work.
Yes, because all of that anitmatter ammo, ships the size of large cities with masses equivalent to mountains, not to mention nano shielding, advanced armor that can withstand multi-gigaton assaults, nano paste, and a surprising lack of newtonic physics, all combine to form the most realistic space MMO ever created.
Wait wait... no, they don't. They combine to make a fun sci fi experience, which isn't always in demand on reality. Manual aim is a technical limitation, but if we can get past that, I'd definitely vote to have it in. At least on frigates. Or hell, just as the option. We ARE in direct neural connection with the ship, firing and aiming weapons with our guns is probably more precise, our brains are enhanced to such a degree that we're faster and more accurate than most on-board computers.
While I agree with most of your points, the only thing I believe is realistic to expect CCP to implement are hardpoints. I LOVE the idea of being able to target the shield generators or warp drive coils, etc.. that'd be sweet.
And for the record, better technology does exist, it just can't be viably implemented yet. Be patient. When the technology is available and CCP still doesn't implement this sort of combat, then complain. Until then though, give em a break. I'd rather be surprised to hear that a lot of these ideas haven't already been considered.

Chi, you obviously haven't seen much Star Trek. Shields do not grant total immunity.
Also, the point is, there is no space game out there that's any good at all, let alone FPS based. So there are no options to choose from.
