Can anyone explain to me why the Gallente Navy will paint its space ships in Green Cama scheme?
Last I checked the ships were fying in space not in a jumgle. Space is black and dark and cold. But yet Gallente Navy paint scheme is of Jungle Camo.
I don't get it

Well, considering how many different types of scanners and scan probes there are, color of the ship really doesn't matter. It would make no sense to paint them black either, you're going to be seen. The only way to avoid detection is by using a cloaking device, and even then, unless you're in WH space, you still show up in local. The ships are painted the way they are because it looks cool.
I'd personally rather fly a ship covered in camo than a plain black or gray one, just cause it'd make me as a pilot feel cooler.

It's for hiding from the natives when you crash land on jungle planets in DUST.

It's obvious really. It's so they can hide against the new forest planets.

If you think jungle camo is cool you obviously have not had the unpleasant experience of seeing a navy domi close up. *shudders* Kazang

I'll just say, that the sooner we get some, even limited to a few options, custom paintjobs in this game the happier everyone is going to be.

Space combat is done through sensors, which means the visual appearance doesn't matter – black provides no advantage over bright pink/yellow polka dot – which means that you can paint your ship in any way you like…
…so why not use something that looks good in the propaganda shots or that refers back to some old unit heraldry of historic value? ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

You mean like a black and silver finish/paintjob?
As opposed to the Minmatar, Caldari and Gallente paintjobs on the new faction ships, which appear to be the same colour palette an artist would use when trying to paint an overly used public rest stop, in popular gas station, near the annual bean, cabbage and curry festival.

Oh they certainly look… less than spectacular, but complaining about the camo pattern on the basis that it makes no sense in space, makes no sense itself.

take your pick:-
1) Traditional
2) Fractal based armor layering, looks like camo from a distance.
3) Coloring it irrelevant in sensor based warfare (see 1 and 2)
4) It looks awesome (just because you don't think it does doesn't mean you are right - you not the fricken centre of the universe, its okay. Breathe and the feeling of helplessness will pass)

I chalk it down to whine being spilled on it. Federation colors were baby blue for a brief but spectacular period but people didn't think it evil enough, so now we have menacing camo for no apparent reason.

Forget the Camo, who cares its space. I however do miss my Pink Phobos. I would show my wife and let her know that I fly it in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.
As for the Camo it could be worse but uif your paint something maybe something cool like Mustang red and some flames

What would make sense would be color schemes based around metal/alloy reactions to heat and stress, around thrusters and gunports.

Well but other spaceships can see it better. I guess that many navy megas are going to be killed because of the color change. :(
BTW. I think the new skin is ok and i cant really understand this whining? Like isn't there any bigger problems or annoyances in eve? Are those whiners same people who cry about ninja salvagers and gankers?

All problems are worth discussing and there are always bigger problems. Are you suggesting we should focus only on those few major things and ignore everything else? If it really bothers you so much, just don't read the whine/feedback and create your own threads for the important issues.

Just because they stuffed up with the shop model paint jobs, they've mucked up the in game ships to match - simply dreadful.
But someone in CCP can do it right - check out the Roden police major red and black megathron, seen at some Gal space jump gates. Totally awesome! I'll grab a screenie next time I see one.
