I saw all this in Ultima Online. People are quitting because... blah blah blah... some games are not for everyone and some are. Take WoW for example. It is easy, mindless leveling up. Ultima Online is still kicking even after 12 years of people saying that it was going to end. Eve will be around just as long because to the people that keep playing it, it is fun. I love to see the whiners whine... sorry.. there isnt any cheese to go with that whine! haha... well one more bites the dust... someone that took the game far too seriously and couldnt deal with the changes... Awww... ROFLMAO I don't even want your stuff! I play eve for fun. I don't take it so seriously that it causes me appoplexy when something doesnt go my way. Some people play as long as they can and then move on. Nothing new about that. Are there problems with Eve? sure... its a game made up by humans which are fallible. Computers only do what they are told to do and you play the game as you have learned to play it. Issues? sure, there are issues in any mmorpg. Just look at the boards of any game out there... there is always some sad sack out there crying about how things arent right and how they have been abused by a system that either ignores thier wants and desires or offends them in thier simplicity and lack of intelligent choices by developers.
Get over yourself, then look at the issues and instead of whining about them, do something to help fix them, or leave. I couldn't care less how may people have tried EVE and left, all I care about is that Eve is still online and functioning. If the money is there to keep it going and it obviously is, then it will be around for a long time. just do the math.
As highly involved long time player - beta tester - advice giving - ex participant of other games, I can tell you that your quitting out of protest will mean squat. Why punish yourself, when you know that you will either come back and play again or find another game that you will not be happy with... Some people are never happy, some are. some get along with the program some dont. good luck, which ever you turn out to be.

AT LEAST YOU'RE MAN ENOUGH TO ADMIT THERE'S PROBLEMS WITH THIS GAME!
There are problems with every game. Period. Chess? Bug-ridden on release, and it was developed in the middle-ages. You know what download speeds were like then? 1 kb/YEAR, if you were on a good node, and had a deal with the friar at the monastery.
I sympathize with your wall of text, T.N., but if Eve bothers you that much, just leave. Go with grace, and perhaps a simple 'Well, I tried it, and the gameplay doesn't do it for me, plus the bugs just make the experience frustrating.' I mean, really, that's what that whole rant boils down to (plus maybe some bashing of other players who have high estimates of their own intelligence - I'll agree with you on that one).
I hope you find a game that suits you.
Best of luck,
Komen.
PS stuffs; can I haz?
