CONCORD Outer Region Political Summary (CORPS) Briefing
>>DED CORPS BRIEFING Y111.11.16/Y111.12.09 >>TO: MEMBER NATIONS û CONCORD ASSEMBLY û DED WATCH COMMANDERS >>STATUS: DECLASSIFIED >>APPROVED FOR RELEASE >>BEGIN
Updates
While most of the galaxy has seen little in terms of territorial conflict over the last few weeks, all eyes have turned to watch the growing war in the south-western area of the map as IT Alliance continues their assault on Pandemic Legion and their allies.
IT Alliance's focus on capturing all valuable moons in the low security regions near Fountain came to a head on the night of the 21st of November in the Syndicate region. A starbase mining a mineral rich moon under the control of Cry Havoc in 3-IN0V was the site of one of the bloodiest battles ever fought among the capsuleers of New Eden.
The initial battle which lasted just over three hours drew in capsuleer fleets supporting both sides from multiple alliances and involved the use of every ship class available to the participants. Estimates of the number of ships involved exceeded three hundred capital class ships, of which over two hundred have been confirmed as destroyed. Hundreds more battleships and over a dozen Titans were deployed as the fight progressed. Final counts showed over twelve hundred ships destroyed in the space of three hours for this single battle.
The end result saw Pandemic Legion and their allies victorious, saving the Cry Havoc starbase only to lose the system and the starbase a few hours later as a new IT Alliance fleet numbering over three hundred pilots returned to the area. This same force then began an assault on PNQY-Y in Fountain, officially starting their long-expected invasion of that region.
After a series of battles over ten days, IT Alliance took control of the outpost in PNQY-Y on December 1st. Since then, several Sons of Tangra systems have lost sovereignty, having been attacked by IT in a seeming attempt to cut supply lines to Empire space. As of this report there have been no other outposts changing hands in Fountain, with the major alliances involved now basing primarily out of Serpentis and Angel Cartel stations in the center of the region.
Since the beginning of the month, reports of large freighter convoys ferrying immense amounts of materials out from Empire space have been reported. While not territorially related, we wish to point out a pair of incidents which highlight a shift in the needs of nul-sec residents in the developmental plans for their space.
The first occurrence of note took place on the 2nd of December in NL6V-7 in Tribute when a battleship heavy fleet from Triumvirate alliance ambushed a Razor Alliance freighter convoy. Ten freighters were lost along with most of the escorting ships.
The second incident happened not even an hour later on the same night in the UD-AOK system in the Great Wildlands. Atlas Alliance destroyed a large SOLAR Fleet / SOLAR Wing convoy by jumping fifty-one carriers in on the unsuspecting convoy at point blank range. Sixteen SOLAR freighters along with nearly 60 of their escort ships died in the following minutes.

This report of massively increased freighter traffic from the Core to the Outer Worlds is most interesting, particularly what it indicates for the development of infrastructure and related matters in the lawless Beyond. I feel that the CONCORD shell-game of the proxy wars in the border regions of the empires may have blinded some of us to the shift into a new phase of expansion and development in the Outer Worlds as new technologies become available.
Vigilance is required if the promise of future societies and prosperity in the Beyond is not to be warped into a series of vile tyrannies and crushing oppressions.

Good. Hopefully if the old BoB boys are putting pressure on Goonswarm again those making use of Kingdom lowsec systems will have slightly less bored Goons to worry about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jakiin Holder Heir of the Kingdom 'Pacifist Reclaimer' |

One thing is for sure, all of these events look like they are being connected with the release of the new technology that are the Infrastructure Hubs and their Upgrades. These gigantic installations, once anchored, can boost a system's ressources manyfolds.
However, from the huge recorded and unrecorded losses of Freighter Convoys in the past two weeks, one must question the cost-effectiveness of such a venture. Surely, there must be Blueprints of these structures somewhere, if they are being constructed by the old Empire Corporations.
Release of these Blueprints could mean the salvation of the small alliances that are trying to get down into the outer regions, and could enhance the viability of establishing themselves out there.
If this technology was released to promote occupation of the outer regions by smaller alliances, I do not see any other way than to either find a way to make these Infrastructure Hubs small enough to fit in Jump Freighters, or to seed the Blueprints on the markets.

It doesn't have to be this way. As with all political systems, there will always be the multipolar system of power balance, especially in this game where fluidity is assured. Anyhow, even small alliances can grow big - this fact is evident even in the nowadays major alliances.
Besides, letting loose these BP's would - in my humble opinion - ruin the joy of all players committed to the winding path of study/exploration...

Fountain, what can i say? PL lost their suport from smaller aliances due to some leaders, that proved to be imcompetent, i speack in given knoledge of grievance, due to a leader that threatened to expel our corp from aliance if we wouldnt defend a system, when before he gived us hard tyme when setling down there cause he wanted us somewere else lo, (an aliance that small spread out throught such big space is ineficient, i guess strategic isnt his strong), i wonder if the big aliances realize that they fall due to the attackers sometymes treat us better than the owners of the space. great empires have fallen this way before, lets see when does in fact rizes one that realizes this truth, and starts treating well the smaller but important coorps, that defend space as hard as our used to, and are now in our new space. bottom line learn to treat well smaller aliances and coorps, that actualy apear to pvp when the tyme is needed, and you will find the help when its needed, try to get richer fast, and you will lack the numbers and the will when the tymes call for it.

PL is known for treating everyone, including their own like crap. larger alliances often fail to realize that a large portion of their power is in the smaller groups that occupy their space, whether they pay rent with isk or blood.

I simply wish to see GS obliterated. Considering their original "Triumph" over the militarily superior and now deceased (at least in name) Band of Brothers alliance, was purely through treachery and not military prowess. I wish I could be more involved in these low sec matters, however my corporation and alliance maintain a tight leash on war provoking actions by their pilots. -------------------------------------------------------------- "Youtube, its like a pitri dish of stupid."

So that's why the sudden influx of those Thukker freighters everywhere. I hope the damages aren't to extensive, I hate to see such wonderful alliances suffer.

cheh....because the band of brothers werent famous for their callous attitude to their allies, betrayal of those under their protection, arrogance and underhanded tactics at all were they? and i hear tell destroying many hundreds of ships, player owned stations and capturing a score or more outposts can occur without any military action at all...ohwait no they can't...
