I'm trying to create a list of all the things you can do in Eve that you can turn a profit on, and incorporate all the different playstyles that are out there. The reason for this is to really show what makes Eve so different from other MMOs. So I'm throwing this list out here in the hope that people will suggest anything I might have missed, or call bull**** on anything that isn't as profitable as I'd thought. Without further ado: Eve Profession Listings: Mission Running/Plexing Ratting Mining Hauling Production Research Exploration Piracy High Sec Piracy -canflipping -suicide ganking Ninja Salvaging Solo Infiltration(asset theft) Corporate Infiltration/Espionage(information selling/asset theft) Covops scouting for corporations(I've seen forum ads for this...not sure as to profitibility) Drug Smuggling 0.0 warfare/territory holding Mercenary work for corporations Extended stay in W-space via a POS Renting/selling of corporate assets -Jump Clones -POS research facilities Margin Trading Investment Speculation Scamming Factional Warfare

I'll try and truncate it tomorrow after my final, but I'm too tired and jittery from pre-exam insomnia to make any notable changes right now. If I try, they'll turn out bad.
Anyways, the reason I make seperate notes for each of these things is that they tend to have different playstyles.
Piracy in high sec tends be unique because high-sec pirates tend to focus on how best to either avoid concordokken or manipulate players into angrily exposing themselves to retaliation, or even concordokkening themselves.
Lowsec/Nullsec pirates focus on bubble camps, smartbombing, or a variety of tools which do not apply in high-sec, and generally just try and have the tools to kill everyone that comes through, and focus less on "max alpha" and more on preventing escape.
I guess I'm trying to distinguish different playstyles, and to my knowledge all of these things can make money, but anyways...I'll come back here tomorrow and edit the crap out of it.

Could you explain some of these in more depth? I'm doing a more in-depth writeup of playstyles now(which won't fit in my original post). I'm probably going to have to scrap this thread and start another with reserved slots...heh.
