Not supported.
Make the idea a bit more complex and I would support it. Something like reverse engineering of a corpse to salvage some implants.

When determining any campaigns success, on a killboard, how is it done?
Isk destroyed vs isk loss.
Without adding in potential billions of loss in implants, the results are not valid.
Simple as that.

But it would require 2 kill mails then, which kinda seems like clogging the lines. 1 for the ship for the first kill, then a second for the pod. People don't die when their ships explode.
Lord knows it's annoying enough when people link 1 killmail, let alone start linking 2. - - - Aloriana Jacques - Skill Sheet

for every pod kill. Thats like saying killing teh support ships in a battle shouldn't be added as it clogs up the killboard
If there is isk loss, it should be reported, to maintain accuracy of campaigns successes / failures.
Hardly a success if you do 1 billion isk damage to the enemies ships, but then lose one single pod that costs also billion to replace...means you've broke even.
At the moment, Killboards don't reflect this.

How is this important anyways? I accept the fact that some people play kill mail on line, but those same people gloat over killing a T1 hauler smack full of BPC's that are showing BPO prices on teit kill board. When in fact all they did was kill a 200,000 isk ship with 2-3 days worth of copy slots (that can be up to 220 BPC's max run btw).
Also I don't want people to know about the low grade slave set I lost in a shield tanked Arazu. That sucked .

Well to put it into a context that maybe everyone can appreciate, what if you're a mercenary corporation, and you're trying to show how much damage (financially) you've inflicted on your current marks. For your client to know that the victims have also lost several billion in implants as well as their ship will make them a happy customer, but there's currently no way to know this.
What if your awesome re-imbursement program also extends to cover low grade slave sets lost in official operations ;) No way to know who did and didn't have these implanted.
What's the difference between seeing what modules someone had in their lost ship (awesome/insane/fail or otherwise) and seeing what implants they had poking out of their grey matter (awesome/insane/fail or otherwise)?
Ok how about a module for those with maxed biology to be able to probe frozen corpses and work it out? no? (joke)

Edited by: Kilostream on 27/02/2010 13:06:52 Yup, I'm down with the implants-on-killmails idea.
However I'd only support the looting of implants if it was also possible to unplug and re-use them in the normal course of events. This is because if unplugging them yourself destroys them, then someone else unplugging them from a corpse should also destroy them.

yes yes yes, sometimes implants are worth more than the ship. This would also give a whole new meaning to ransoming

Clone grade quality is quantity and quality of neural connections in the brain of the medical clone at the medical facility that your body is cloned back to. If there number is insufficient to properly assimilate information from your previous body, some information may be lost. As soon at the body becomes alive (you jump into it/you are cloned back to life) the effective quality of your bodies brain becomes infinite as more neural connections will be created by the brain when necessary, that's a natural process that takes place when you learn, and that is why you can exceed your clone limit. therefore determining the quality of the body that you killed is impossible as it does not correspond to the normal specifications of bodies stored at medical facility, as normal processes of metabolism, lyfecycle of cells, death of brain cells due to use of drugs, boosters and alcohol change the brain a lot. Neither can you determine the quality of the clone to which you victim was cloned, because that clone is light-years away from you at the medical facility, and i doubt that if you kill a guy, and then call up medical personal at his alliance outpost to ask them the clone cost so you know how much damage you did, they will be eager to tell you.
Determining the exact model of a microscopic implant included in someone's head when you shot through his body a 1400 mm projectile, or 1000mm plasma bolt few million degrees hot will be problematic at best.

Would it? - to add a new dimension to ransoming you'd have to know what the implants were before you destroyed the pod, surely?!
Finding out after the event that you just destroyed 2bn-worth of implants might give you an additional belly-chuckle, but it's not going to pad your wallet out any!

If you are a mercenary corporation I would assume you would like to brag about successful contracts, not how much isk you've killed. Is a merc corp fail if they were contracted to shut down a region against a certain corp/alliance and succeeded so well that the alliance never undocked to get killed in a measurable quantity?
Quote: What's the difference between seeing what modules someone had in their lost ship (awesome/insane/fail or otherwise) and seeing what implants they had poking out of their grey matter (awesome/insane/fail or otherwise)?
none what so ever, but kill mails for ships are already in game however irrelevant I hold them. The only reason I pay attention to my killboard is to check off things on my killboard bingo. Need a black ops, and an orca and I win! Of course I laugh at fail fits just like everyone else, however it's the team organization, planning and execution that I hold in higher regard (also a well executed gank is partial to my heart).
I won't be upset at all if pod mails show up, however that does not change the fact that I see no good use for it other than another way to "haha" at someone you killed.

Not supported, it's not needed.
Furthermore while it makes some sense that your ships scanners can pick up or figure out what a ship had on board or fitted, it makes very little sense that they could figure out such finery as is installed in some ones blown up head.
Personally I think Killmails themselves are kind of ridiculous. It really makes no sense that just because you kill someone you immediately know all sorts of informations about their ship without even exploring it or looking at it or scanning it or anything. It'd be similar to if I used an RPG and blew up someone in a car and then immediately knew everything that was in it, what is salvageable and what kind of tires he was using... -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

NOT NEEDED / NOT SUPPORTED.
The killmail system already encourages killmailwhoring and discourages engaging when the outcome is not certain, this is bad enough. The last thing we need is yet more EPEEN fodder reinforcing this behaviour (of which i have been just as guilty of in the past) mostly due to concern over KB efficiency and other meaningless crap.

I don't support it primarily because this additional information would have only 1 effect: more hate speech in local
I get enough snide remarks just because I like to fly expensive ships. There's not a single situation where seeing someone's implants wouldn't cause more negativity. Either it'll be "lol noob doesn't even have cheap implants" or "lol noob just lost his implants"
The best thing is not to feed the trolls.

Not supported
Here, how about this reason.
It would increase pod killing for no other reason than to find out what implants someone had.
I believe CCP and as such Concord doesn't support pod killing, which is why you get a huge status hit for doing it when in low sec high sec. All this would do is PROMOTE pod killing anyone who happens by for no other reason than to see what they had in their head.
I would hazard a guess as this is why it isn't included already.
