The game has been having SQL issue's since they updated to the new version a few weeks ago, this issue was reported to the Microsoft support guys and they was working with them to solve the problems that was a post made by a GM not so long ago. The database control everything you do in eve and if the database is having Issue's it will effect alot of area's in game fleet lag could be caused by this too, api being disabled is not a big problem and is something to be expected with the SQL issue they are simply trying to limit the connections and tasks the db is doing.

Unfortunately he has no real right to complain about the gameplay experience. He agreed to the EULA and that's all there is to it. It is clearly stated there that downtimes and similar stuff may occur and that the user will accept these situations. That is all there is to it. If he does not like it then he can just stop playing, nothing more, nothing less.
From CCP's side they do their very best to prevent downtimes and issues but obviously these things are unavoidable. The OP refuses to realize this. So people can whine about player experiences until the moon explodes for all I care - it won't change anything whatsoever.

There is always going to be issues with a game thats always in development and changing all the time. Its a new patch, always new bugs. Also eve is built on old code they are trying to replace, been trying for 2 years.
Welcome to the mmo world. You don't want lad. Quit eve and play a offline game, we don't want you in our game whining to us how crap you think it is.

So CCP has test server and they utilize it 2 days max per content release?`Sounds like serious under utilizition to me.
Maybe they should really start promoting test server, "come help us iron out bugs and test new features...." and do this weeks before new expansion is released. I would like to recomend making it easyer to actyally participate in test server. Now you need to figure out witch patch to download and how to apply it. Maybe offer program for this, to automate it.
Another good idea would be execute feature lock month before release. No new tricks after that point, just bug fixes.
I like that they offer free content updates, but i would like them to be less buggy then theyre are now. For example current soverinity structures woulnerability, thats major bug and half-ass serious testing would have catched that before it was released.

I just hope this extra downtime is to fix current issues with the DB and not the sort of thing we will be seeing when someone requests a reconfiguration for a big fleet battle.

my lag is crazy since dom, not sure what it is but the game is well for me basically unplayable.
Jump at gate wait 15 secs open cargo bay wait 15 secs, dont even think about running multi accounts on 1 pc now.
hopefully it will be do to some driver i havent loaded since i rebuilt my machine but it was ok b4 dom.

I hear WoW is a masterpiece(!) of excellently developed software that people on here compare to Eve when Eve is doing something better than WoW, only to biatch at the people bringing up comparisons when WoW is a million times better in certain aspects, like having a GUI that doesnt make 9 of 10 people quit like in Eve, where the GUI only keeps getting color changes in every major "expansion".

and as far as the test server is concerned every time I have logged on the majority of ppl are in fd PvP'ing not bug-hunting , other than Titan and Supercarrier pilots testing. I went and tested the upgraded system BH setup and only encounter one other person in 12 hours! so you don't want to help test on SISI then YOU will be forced to test when the expansion is applied to TQ.  when the next expansion comes out get your lazy butts out of FD and do some real bug-hunting.

Errrm no, thats not really accurate.
With no venom intended in Caps direction in his analogy he is a passenger on a jet that encounters a severe storm front and is expressing concern over the ride being very bumpy (perhap fearing that the plane may be damaged), not to mention the turbulence is making him very uncomfortable.
This is both understandable and irritating at the same time.
