No really, CCP should take note and open their Icelandic ears and respond to the many many people feel wronged by them.
Do CCP actually feel bad for its gamers in anyway shape or form? Do they actually give a **** about us?
I think that of course they don't want people to quit but only for 1 reason....Cash
Yeah we all know patchs are free, but whats the use of a patch that needs patching....over and over?
Theres alot of great points to CCP and EVE but im afriad there is also a great many bad points.

Sarcasm is so hard to convey in the printed word.
Steijn is either typing with his tongue firmly planted in hs cheek, OR he has been playing for 3 years and the best ship he owns is a Zephyr...
May I have your Zephyr....

I think it would be very difficult to contract his stuff to you out-of-game, huh ?
...as opposed to giving me his account details..... honestly, the things i have to put up with, makes me wonder why i bother. Now, where did i put that baseball bat....

I am an even bigger whiny nerd who hangs around the forums looking for chances to try and jam my tongue even further into CCPs rear-end. I five knuckle shuffle everyday to CCP in front of my Eve-Altar - the one with pictures of all the mods on it.

Boring...play something less complicated then..
EVE works well most of the time, new big patches throw up problems and get fixed. Its the SAME for every game, even the recent wow patch has caused massive lag/dc issues.

I disagree. I don't think it's too much to ask for a little warning. Two minutes is very short, and re-extending afterwards isn't cool. Distress has a point.
My opinion, for what it's worth : What they should do is announce 3 hours of downtime at the least populated time period next Monday, spend the time between now and then preparing for it, and get everything done in the 3 hours. Even if it only takes 2 hours, at least they will meet or exceed expectations, rather than setting expectations and then disappointing a chunk of their playerbase - which by all accounts is what happens when these unexpected downtimes occur.
This isn't about computer programming or database management, which inevitably take the time that they take. It's about customer relations, which is entirely under their control.

lmao
I find it laughable that when anyone posts anything that criticises Eve in anyway whatsoever, they get the usual 'tears' comment thrown at them.
The simple fact is that atm, no-one can argue that Eve doesnt do what its supposed to do. Wether this be down to Dominion, the DB, SQL or whatever.
My post wasnt a case of 'bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I want my money back'. It was as anyone who took time to read it would actually have realised, the fact that something that im paying for is not doing what im paying it to do. Therefore I dont intend paying for something that Im not actually receiving.
Flame away as much as you like, but a high percentage of people on here will understand the point im making. Whats in the tin is not what it says on the lid.

Yay, it's Friday night...I have a free night to play EvE finally....oh, the DT just got extended by an hour....again....
Come on CCP - wake up to the fact that you have customers in TZ's other than US and Europe and move the DT back two hours. Look at your own charts and see that it's the right thing to do. make your game a truely International game instead of a predominantly EU & US game. First there was Meh, now there is Bleh. |

There's a big difference between your legal and contractual rights and your expectations. Microsoft and Mac both have bulletproof disclaimers on every item or piece of software they sell, but when they fail and people lose time because of it, they're still legitimately peeved, regardless of whether or not Microsoft say on the box that "Our software may not work, may crash your computer and may ruin your day, and it's not our fault".
As I said above. All it requires is a minimum of effort in customer comms. It's just that that's not CCP's strong suit. We're most of us going to keep playing, and tolerating this sort of stuff, for some time to come. But it's not surprising that people vent a little steam when they're disappointed in the membership they pay for every month, and if CCP's good, they'll take note and try to do better next time.
Bashing people because they're upset isn't any more constructive than being upset in the first place.

Try reading my post yet again.
Its not about unexpected DT, its about Eve not doing what its supposed to do.
They could shut it down for an entire week over Xmas imo, as long as when it came back online the problems no longer existed.
.....and ive not taken receipt of the Zephyr yet because, er, well, its hard to take ownership of it when you cant get online to accept it.

I'm not really trying to bash anyone - I'm just trying to get their stuff!
BTW - I hope everyone contemplating a departure understands that their sub will continue hitting their credit card until they contract their stuff to me. It's a small thing really and found in the addendum I sent to myself when I agreed to the EULA.
Thanks, Fly safe and happy contracting your stuff to me
