i've been temped to buy many things from the eve store, including backcopies of eon, however the shipping charges have always discouraged me from buying anything...
the shippping is WAY over priced.

So I left 2 more messages at the CCP store today (12/28/2009.
One for Ed Parker who was my contact 1-404-292-1819 x 235
& a message for Stacey the operator.
I urge you to call them asking them what the hell is wrong with their customer service.
The item is still MIA, money deducted from my account has not been returned and there has been no word from the Eve store asshats. Also no response to my in game petition I placed on 12/19.
My only option at this point is to fight the charge with my bank. Unfortunately this means I will no longer be able to pay for my Eve online accounts from my debit card.
CCP where is my money? what the hell happened to Customer Service?
This is totally unacceptable.

Yeah, I bought something from the Eve store once...once.....it's rather ludicrous the price they are charging for shipping.
I most definetley would buy more stuff if they got their shipping prices in order.

Yet another example of why there should be a test used prior to allowing one to operate a computer.
And to counter all of you other troglodytes - it is a deceptive practice not clearly stating a charge for something out of reasonable range. At least is is so in the country (Canada) the op has his financial institution with.

On another note- i do see this as ccp's problem. It obviously wouldnt ship out within a few hours. Canceling an order should be a simple and straightforward process.
Ccp- i have no idea why your shipping charges are so ridiculously high. Even shipping to a usa location is much, much higher then it should be. About ten times more expensive then what sane businesses charge. I guarantee if you looked into this and found a way to reduce the cost you would see your store sales skyrocket.

There's probably nobody at work at the moment and only the automatic stuff got processed. I doubt they'll ignore all the cancellation requests and ship it regardless. If they did that, they'd have to pay the shipment costs as OP would rightfully reverse the transaction.

So yesterday I finally got an response to my in game petition informing me that my request has been moved to the billing que. So at this rate, maybe another week or two before I hear from someone over there.
Just to recap, original order was placed on 12/18 in the AM and canceled immediately. Other than the late response to my petition I have had no customer service from CCP.
Item has not shown up (now 12 days missing), $53.68 still missing from my account.

Finally got this response in game. Guess the eve store has no intention of filling orders for Christmas.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
I have sent a mail also to the store personnel, but the issue is that the store is closed till the 4th of January, due to the holidays. It is most likely that the order will not have been processed yet, and so that the messages you have left, along with the mail I sent, will reach them in time to cancel the order.
But just in case, then I would advise you to call them on Monday morning, when people come back from the holidays. The store has a phone support, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM (EST). The number is: (404) 292-1819 x235.

So they were closed on 12/18 and come back on 1/04. How can an online store close for 2 weeks over Christmas ? No way to run a business.

I am still baffled as to why CCP doesnt have the brains to setup their store with an electronic timecard which is emailed to the desired email address apon completion of the purchase.
If you're buying a timecard, its because you're about to run out of time/have run out of time, and want to use it straight away.
If you're a distributor, or a timecode selling site, you'd also prefer an electronic version as it would be easier to automate, and would save you hours of looking at cards and typing numbers in, then rechecking to make sure you dont typo it and have a complaint from a customer.
Selling and mailing a physical time card to people is bloody pathetic, and nothing more than a very cheap tatic in ripping people off with absurd postage fees.
at this rate CCP should go join Activision, They'd get along great as they both seem to love ****ing their own customers up the arse

CCP customer service has been awfull for a long long time. Dont even get me started on the store. I ordered a shirt 5 months ago... nobody returns my calls, nobody seems to give a sh*t about anything except the charge to my credit card, which was worked out promtly and professionally. I'm still awaiting my shirt...
So yeah anyway i dont think people work at the CCP store I think cynical elves that were kicked out of The North poll for doing too many drugs work there. I mean god.
Does CCP fire people? Are people accountable for their actions/lack therof?

just buy a timecode from Shattered Crystal they email u the code within 30 minutes and it works out cheaper than buying from ccp direct... also no postage charge

This is in fact false, this shows up when you are entering the billing method under shipping method directly above where you put in the credit card information. There is also a running tally in the upper right hand corner that gives you a running tally of your order when at that screen partitioned in 4 catagories "subtotal" "shipping" "taxes" and "total".
While I agree that the charge is rather high claiming that you were not informed of the shipping charge until after you have processed the order is blatantly false. This can be tested by anyone following the purchase process and reaching the point where you enter the credit card info, all you had to do was stop there to avoid this.

If this is true, and they have infact already taken the money from your bank account without dispatching the product. They are effectively breaking the law aren't they? Possibly US law also?
I would make sure you check your bank account to ensure they have definitely removed the $53.68 from your account. If so I would suggest you ensure that this is against the law in your country and then escalate this to either your debit/credit card company and warn CCP of your actions and their illegal actions.

When I did use GTC, I purchased from shattered crystal and besides the one phone call they make to you I always get my GTC in 5 minutes. The first time I ordered the Eve online magazine "EON" it took about three weeks to be delivered. I also ordered Eve Strategic Maps V.2 and that took about 2 weeks.
Is the store in Iceland??

The EVE store is 9354653740469 AU away so they have to wait for their capacitor to recharge a few times while jumping. I've looked at buying a couple of things before and the shipping made me change my mind...
