Its actually happened, the goon was called RoyOfCa. It was during the querious siege and goons were discussing on ts if they could CAOD post about it.

Anyways personally I think its funny. To the op "welcome to eve" tomorrow it might be you scamming some nooblets who didnt bother running 10 minutes of forum checks.

Oh, come on, everyone knows that Goons scam and one of their most well known scamms is the paying to get into their corp scam.
If you have to pay or give any items to Goonswarm to get in you are being scammed.
Only people registered on the Something Awful forums or their friends are allowed into Goonswarm.

I'd like to feel sympathetic, but you are a new player, and you had 150M ISK? If you got it from trading an ETC, then it shouldn't be difficult to recover your losses, by doing it again. If you didn't get it from ETC trading, then I would have to assume you bought it from ISK sellers, in which case, you get no sympathy from me. If you got it through hard work, then I sympathize, but at the same time, Eve is unforgiving, and merciless. You just have to learn things the hard way.
On the other hand, it takes a certain kind of person to be accepted into goon. The kind it is best not to give any thought to. |

Though seriously folks, I can see the "wisdom" of the test. If the OP is looking to apply to a notorious 0.0 corp with a reputation, what better way to test "character" than to charge 500 mil to apply and then reject their application, and observe their response?
Reminds me of the martial arts wannabe who went into the mountains seeking ninjas to train with, only to find shinobi who test applicant abilities by making them kick trees with their bare toes......"make fist with toes, now kick tree...."
You no want to be ninja, you want to be shinobi.....kick tree again....
An organization the likes of goonfleet has a reputation to uphold, if you can't afford to just toss away 500 mil (the cost of a decient BC) and be a carebear about it THEY most likely have no use for you in the organization.

Goon Fleet is the worst corp out there. The CEO endorses scamming of non-goons.
I'd love to see the Goons get pummeled, unfortunately that doesn't seem like it'll happen.
Anyways, don't trust the Goons. They're all hacks, and probably had to rely on cheating smart kid's tests to pass school.

A serious PVP alliance doesn't take any isk from players that want to join. There are some rules and requirments to join, yes...
A good alliance needs your skills in PVP, not your wallet.
Anyway, a good alliance is giving not only frigates and crusers for CTA, but fully fitted battleships and capital ships as well.
If the alliance budget is coming from donations of new people that join, I am sorry.. it sounds like a MLM (multi level marketing) alliance, nothing more, nothing else...

You create a char with the name of kennedy( goon all the way ).You fabricate a story about how goons scammed you out of your last isk.You do that in a bad enough english, that this will sound believable.Than you fill that up with some tears and circulate that story in game and on forums and with a little bit of luck, you make millions and millions of isk.
