I was going through my standings, looking for a nice new agent to play with, when I came across a suitable candidate.. or so I thought.
Their info says, "You must have an effective Corporate, Faction or Personal standing of 6.00 to use this agent" (or something like that).
My corp has a 6.90 standing with that agents corporation (listed under the 'liked by' tab), so I assumed that since the corporate standing exceeded the requirement, I'd be able to use that agent even though I personally have a 0.0 standing with the agents corporation.
I haven't run missions on an ongoing basis for years, so I'm wondering if I'm either reading something wrong, dont understand the mechanics any more, or if there's some sort of glitch that is putting that agent under the 'Not Available to You' header when I look them up.
Any ideas? /nubbinz T

The standing needs to be between you and the agent, agents corporation or the agents faction. Your corp doesn't come into it. ------

You need a personal standing towards the agent or his corporation or faction. Your corporations standing towards the faction will allow you to anchor star bases in their space, but that's about it.

I've had this problem the other day, I think they changed it at some point or something but;
Aswell as the faction or your own corp standing of around something like 6 or 7 you tend to need a personal standing with the agents cooperation aswell of something like 3.2 or whatever and thet can only be achieved by grinding away for a particular cooporation.
It sounds like you have the opposite problem though, I think you probably have the personal standings but not the faction standings.

Even though I have not yet finished my first cup of java this morning, I get a feeling that this ^^ is the answer I was looking for.

Standings to access agents are always based on your personal standings towards the agent, the agent's corporation, or the agent's corporation's faction. Research & Developments agents have a double requirement of an agent/corp/faction standing and then a agent/corp standing that is 2.0 lower than the first.
The only time your character's corporation standings come in to play are: Your corporation has an 8.0 towards an NPC corporation, you have access to install jump clones with that corporation
Your corporation has a 4.0/5.0/6.0/7.0 towards a faction, you can drop a POS in space claimed by that faction in a 0.4/0.5/0.6/0.7 security system respectively.
