1. They are vegetables, as i would never put one in a fruit salad, a regular salad with lettuce etc yes.
2. It’s a biscuit going through an identity crisis - hence the cake bit in its name.

1. Fruit, it has seeds. And you can make juice out of it.
You can make juice out of some vegetables, too, but that's just wrong.
2. Biscake (hybrid). If I had to choose one way or the other, I would say cake as it contains sponge, a Jaffa jelly filling and a topping of chocolate, just like a cake made from, err, sponge, Jaffa jelly and chocolate.
My dad used to work with a guy who was on the team that invented Jaffa Cakes, so I could be considered an authority in this matter.

The difference between fruits and vegetable comes down to how plants disperse their seeds. Fruits disperse their seeds via animal ingestion, vegetables disperse their seeds via air.
Toms are therefore fruits.
Jaffa cakes are cakes. Biscuits are hard and crunchy. And dont have the word cake in their name.

1 - Tomatoes are fruit. 2 - Jaffa Cake is infact pie! Its soft, so it can't be a *****er or biscuit. But it isn't a cake either, since it has soft filling, as opposed to a hard/dry filling (for ex. Chocolate cake) So Jaffa cakes are pies.
All who disagree with me are fruitcakes.

A tomato is a fruit. Though Tomato juice is wrong wrong wrong I say!
Jaffa Cakes are neither biscuits nor cakes. What Jozef said got me thinking though. Jaffa Cakes are in fact puddings like steak & kidney puddings (as opposed to pies), only with orangey bits instead of meat & gravy. I think I just lost it
