Obvious attempt at market manipulation; sounds like someone is stuck with a stack of them. Expect prices to drop further.

They briefly jumped to 650M after the faction ships were announced. I guess they went back down. Think I got mine for like 315 back in the day before Unholy Rage.

Yeah, after unholy rage they pretty much doubled in price. Looks like the macros are back at it and have brought prices down again.

Speaking as a fat cat:
CNRs are cheap. If you compare the average LP to isk ratio with the cost of a CNR the CNR is way, way underpriced compared to, say, shield hardeners. The market is still bloated with second-hand CNRs from people who have upgraded to Golems. That isn't a situation that will last for ever. Based on the relative building costs the Golem and the CNR are roughly the same base cost; only supply and demand keep them artificially separated.
Personally I would like to see some degradation every time a ship is passed to a new player (after being constructed) to make brand new ships worth more than second-hand ones, otherwise the market will continue to behave in this odd manner. _________________________ Join Channel 'Mentors' for PVP and PVE help and advice ingame without changing corps. This is the worst idea I've heard in a long time. Prices are they way they are because of supply and demand, nothing odd about it. Golems may cost the same to produce as CNR, but people are willing to pay a lot more for them, hence their price. Obviously CNRs have come down because all the macro missioners are back from unholy rage.

That is quite possibly the silliest thing anyone has ever posted.
This is a simulation. There is no literal such thing as anything the game represents. The economy is a simulation of a real world market, though, and the fact that brand new items are worth the same as ones years old is bizarre, and skews particularly the manufacturing market to a point where most new items are simply not worth manufacturing at all.
I'm not suggesting a major degradation. Perhaps a variation in the skins, and a 1% drop in cpu and powergrid.

Interesting discussion. Keep it up.
My friend just bought himself one too for a similar price. Looks like the glut is over though, since there are less than half as many left as there were when I bought mine.
See you out there in our new CNRs!

That could be anyone. You can't look for a faction ship without seeing it's t1 counterpart and a false label.
I do agree on one thing. The sheer number of these faction ships and the fact that a lot of them last for years makes them cheap, and odds are it will stay that way until their price drops into noob-friendly turf, and they start getting popped more often.
Ship degradation or used ship penalties would make these used ships easier to pop, but it's totally the wrong direction to go IMO. Instead of penalizing a used ship, why not buff a new ship? Give a new unassembled CNR an extra 5% to base shield resists across the board to it's first user. That kind of incentive would be enough to entice experienced PVE'rs to pay up for a new one, and the old ones would lose a good 100m of their value.

My suggestion was to affect fitting requirements, since those can be trained around, or you can fit implants to compensate. Increasing resistances isn't an across-the-board benefit for all ships; not everything is combat.
I don't mind a buff rather than a decrease though; it amounts to the same thing. Just seems to me like a brand new ship should be better than one many years old, just like the real world things should degrade. _________________________ Join Channel 'Mentors' for PVP and PVE help and advice ingame without changing corps.
