After much debate over the return of cultural artifacts belongning to the Matari people that were looted by the Amarrian's during their brutal occupation of our worlds, the Neris Sisterhood are proud to announce that the PRM officials have indeed precured three of our clan's most sacred artifacts, the Neris Stones... or more commonly known as by the Amarrian thieves that stole it, the Water Stone.
The waterstone is the prime foundation behind the foundation of the Neris Sisterhood and provides much of the source behind Clan Raven's spirituality concerning the one. It has strange effect when exposed to the Matri sun, provides a sorce of water from which a small number of plants can grow in the Matari desert. Rare to the extreame, these oasis stones we're much sought after particually amongst the desert and island tribes in equater regions of Matar, and provided the basis from whic the Clan Raven would precure an economy from which to survive.
To explain how our belief evolved from the Neris Stone is a simple one. We Raven believe in a source from which all things came and as such we are all a part of. We often refer to this source as "The One". The Neris Stone is a symbol of the source from which all things come and as such it provides a great deal of inspiration behind our culture. Indeed the very Name Neris, from which our sisterhood names it's self, transleted from the Raven toungue litterally means, "Flow of Water".
These days, though, the stones are extreamly rare. Looted by the Amarrian's for their own uses, these rare stones were feared lost to the Matari people, until now. Three artifacts have been precured by PRM officials and offered to the Clan Raven to deal with as we see fit, to the PRM for which we are deeply grateful. There fore we have elected to offer one of the Stones to the Republic of Minimitar, the other to the PRM and the last shall remain with us for our spiritual traditions.
The Stones will help bring about a greater understanding our culture to the young Matari born today, but also will provide sustanance to desert prilgrims to whoever seek it out. The value of these stones is uncalulable to the Matari culture and we hope that soon, more Matari artifacts will be on their way home.
However, we have come across a rather nasty snagg in the precurment of these artifacts. Many houses in the Amarrian Empire, not least the Sarum, are under the impression that these artifacts have been stolen from the Empire. A claim we most vehemently deny. How can that which has been stolen from the Matari people be considered stolen from the Empire? You cannot claim that which was not yours to begin with. Make no mistake we shall be returning these stones to their rightful people, even though the task may be a dangerous and long one through Amarrian empire space.
Which brings me to my request. I ask that all avaialable Matari pilots willing to protect the Stone's convy back to Matari space to please contact Maggot of FOM command or AsheRaven of Neohazard Freelance Peacekeeping Agency, as soon as possible. The longer these scared artifacts remain in Amarrian space, the more dirtied they become. It is of the utmost urgancy that these stones be purified of their taint as soon as possible. We can offer no reward for this servce save knowledge of great service to the betterment of our people and our ways.
I thank you all for your time

You have found the Neris Stones?
You have my guns, my ship and my first hand up to volenteer to be one of the pilots that brings these stones home to the Matari people where they belong.
Even if I must do it alone, I shall.

Heresy Deceit Murder
These are just some of the crimes committed by these so called Matari 'freedom fighters' Now it seems we can add a new crime to the list.
THEFT
Freedom fighters? Criminals more like.
Be assured loyal Amarrians will do everything in their power to stop the terrorists in this piratical endeavour.

Edited by: Khaldorn Murino on 16/11/2004 13:05:14 Please correct me if I am wrong Hardin. But did your people not steal them from AsheRavens people in the first place? Surely this is merely returning the artifacts to their rightful owners?

Darius sipped his coffee as he read the message on the GalNet, nearly spilling it from his mouth at the news he had heard. He quickly caught himself in his chair and put the mug down, trying not to drop it. He could not belive what he had read... the stones had been found.
As a youth on Matar, his Uncle Gol'dar would tell a yarn of the fabled stones that their brothers of the Raven clan possesed. A closely guarded secret in their early years of war, left to nothing more than a whisper and childrens tales.
Darius broke his stare on the screen and began to type.

That which was given into the universe is but a gift from God. As God's chosen children the Amarr are caretakers of all that is precious both flesh of the heathen, and wonder of nature.
This stones indeed are wonders to beholden by all, but I dare say they shall not return to the Republics control, least they be protected by the true defenders of faith the Amarr!

The theft of theses stones will ot be tolerated. We have rightful ownership of them and we will not stop till they are back where they belong. All claims that they belong to Minmatar are severely outdated, you lost your claim the moment you cowered before our Empire.
I request that all Amarrian defence forces help claim these back from the criminals that stole them from us before they are lost forever.

And what of the Nefanter tribe! Those stones are as much apart of our heritage as anyones. I'll not tollerate these stones being held hostage by the Matari. To be used in their twisted rituals. The forces of the Ammatar Federation will see to it that the stones are returned to the rightful place in Sidyous' estate and in the proper and holy care that they deserve. -----------------------------------

If you consider them to be such an important part of your heritage, why would you give them back to Amarr? Shouldn't Ammatar hold on to these valuable stones?

Nice try! We have plenty of Minmat artifacts in Ammatar space. Also these artifacts rightfully belong to Sidyous. We respect his ownership of these particular artifacts and have faith that he will guard them for the good of Ammatar.

You know your history as well as anybody, that the stones were discvered during the Raven/Shakor clan's nomadic periods in the deserts before we came to settle on the islands. These stones were the pinnicle of our survival, and the cornerstone of our culture and economy.
There is no ritual performeed around these stones> We do not idolise them as faulse gods, but we do derive a great deal of imagry and representation from them. Like the eagle is the symbol of imperialism in some cultures, the stones are a representation of what we believe all life came from. Even a mongral traitor branch race such as yours.
The only race likely to abuse them in pagan ritual is more like the Amarrian people. I will liberate these stones, more the rightful property of the Raven, and recognise them for the cultural education it will give our younger generations. We coiuld have claimed all three for our own, and no one tribe (excpet perhaps yours, who have no say in Minmitar politics anymore) would question that right. Instead we choose to give these stones to the people of Matar, as is our right to do so. ---------------------------------

I would interfere in the return of these "sacred relics" only to see real terrorists punished for their crimes.
It is typical of these animals to worship rocks, howl at the moon, paint their faces, and throw sticks at one another.
Filthy heathens, the Lord will see you brought to holy justice.

As a former archeologist and collector of antique items (had a little mix-up with Amarrian Customs a few years ago, not that I was doing anything illegal of course... ), I've been watching this subject with a great deal of interest. I wish you good luck on your campaign to reclaim them.
That being said, it is easy to see that ownership of these artifacts are a great source of conflict between your own people, Mr. Raven, and those of the Amarrian persuasion. Might I propose that the stones be kept in Concord, or other "neutral" space, thereby protecting it from clandestine acts of agression and theft in your own back yard.
P.S. Will you be arranging any sort of exhibition of the stones for the public? I would very much like to see them, they sound wondrous!

Edited by: AsheRaven on 19/11/2004 18:07:32 Those of our clan on the Brutor council wil be in session with Miludar on what wil be done with the Republic's stone. It is down to her.
I'm sure she knows, as well as anyone, how the Brutor will react if she decides it is better to return Brutor property back to the Amarrian theives who plundered it from our worlds. If not, she does now.
The PRM will decide on their placement, thouh it is my wish that after an exstensive security detail has been set out, the stone will be placed in the heart of the PRM council chambers, for all to see.
The Raven however would wish for time to reflect on what to do with their Stones. It has been too long since a Raven has put an eye on these stones, so you can imagine how emotional this is for us right now. Rest assured a decision will be made sooner rather than later.
We invite members of the Parata wa, our friends and cultural rivals to be with us in this auspiscous moment, when we reveal the stones to our clan members. We know that they can appriciate the wonder of these stones to our clan culture, and differences aside, will respect our culture as we respect theres. We would like this unveiling to at least heal a gap that has overshadowed us for too long. ---------------------------------

I'll give you a hand getting these stones back Ashe, if it's within my power to do so.
I'd also like to have a look at one in my lab to see if we can't unlock their geochemical secrets, using non-intrusive scanning equipment of course.
If that would be seen as sacreligious, I would of course respect your reluctance and would in no way wish to create a cultural contretemps.
But the potential humanitarian benefits that might be had from a stone that can bring water to a desert are enormous and should not be overlooked.

Indeed. The propertiers alone are valuble and could save many lives on desert and outerrim worlds if we could ***** the basic makeup of the stones. So far our scientists have failed to repilicate the stones structure and make up.
Any input will be of a great help. And shared with the Eve Galaxy to all who would seek to help and benefit others less fortunate. ---------------------------------

With the aid of an annomynous Pod pilot, another stone has been secured by the Raven Clan's Neris Sisterhood.
Fourth Stone found
We thankyou for your aid, though righht now it remains a mystery as to who the slaves original holder was. We can only hope that they met the judgement they well deserved in fire. Raven Clan/Neohazard Recruitment |
