So we always hear about Goonswarm, AAA, IT, Atlas, Razor ect.
Who are some of the smaller allainces who don't typically make threads on the forums who are actually out there doing their thing. This is pretty much a shoutout thread. I would like to see what 100-500 man Alliances actually make a splash and show up on peoples radars. This doesn't have to be 0.0 alliance either, if there is some pirate Alliance making trips through low-sec tough throw their name out.

Unfortunately you rarely see smaller alliance news around here. Normally they end up getting trolled by folks who consider their alliances to be real serious business. I used to know the majority of who was who when there were less alliances around, now I really have no idea who 90% of the alliances are. Would be nice to find out a bit more.

We are preferring to keep a low profile, to avoid getting steam rolled by larger alliances. We have just started living in null, and have no blue allies (cause they don't like talking to us smaller folk), which in turns, makes life very exciting just trying to survive.
Plus we are pretty irrelevant anyways.

If you follow CAOD and SHC, you've probably heard us mentioned a few times. We're the "renter that stayed" alliance that has been labeled a pet of Pandemic Legion by IT for our support on PL's side, and "our best ally" by members of Goonswarm for our all-rifter roams that plague Fountain, CR, OR, PB, and Deklein like a swarm of locusts. Otherwise we tend to keep a low profile as I'm sure many of the smaller alliances do.
We're out there in Fountain doing our thing, small allies represent!

The thing about small alliance's in the 100-500 man range is that they tend to flop.
Why? Because of a few things.
One, they have a leader, and 20 corps with only 25 "people" in them. So not much can be done above the battle ship class of ships.
Two, Timezones. If you have say 450 "people" in your alliance, about 1/4 will be actual people. The rest the alts of those people. So out of 450, you may have 112 REAL people in that alliance. Spit that amongst the 4 main TZ's you see in EVE, and you only get about 25-30 people per timezone.
If they all happen to be in the same timezone, THEN they have a chance.. But with the way Sov Mechanics work now, you need round the clock coverage, or someone will just wait till your coverage is the weakest, and bring in 50-100 people, and take your space.
You DO see some small alliance's in the sub 500 member range.
Some that I remember that were effective for some time were Tri, Kia, Think MC was around 500-600 for quite some time.
There are many that are VERY capable, but you see them rise, then fall quickly due to failcascade.
Or in the case of a lot of them, they start out as small roaming gang alliance's that kick ass, then try to move up to play with the big boys in the capital fights, and suffer one or two bad losses(50-100 cap losses) and they can't afford to replace them because they're either all personally owned, or not reinbursed by their corps/alliance. So their cap fleet dies, and they move on.
Unfortunately with the way 0.0 Sov was changed too, you need larger numbers to play in all TZ's, as well, as to defend against all the coalitions out there.

Undivided is an alliance that started when a group of small corporations got scammed into joining a bogus alliance and ended up in deep 0.0 space wondering what to do next.
What the member corporations have in common is an interest in making the most of the new Dominion features, and carving out a 0.0 home for ourselves.
Most people associate residents/renters with carebears and carebearing. We aren't. We have members who enjoy just about every aspect of the game, but we're fighters first, and we enjoy the small gang PvP that we get in our space (though we could do without the constant AFK cloaker alts). Many of us are long time veteran players who could easily be in one of the big alliances, but choose to pass on the 600 man lag fests and all day camping that that requires. Most of us have been there, done that, and given the current state of the servers, aren't eager to ask for seconds.
Nice thread. Thanks for starting it. ---------------- We're recruiting quality players. Check us out. |

sorry, but you sir are an idiot. you think every alliance in game who plays in null were 500+ members the day they were created? No. you start small, you make friends, you get bigger. And as being part of a ever growing alliance, in 1 year we went from a noobie corp, to an alliance with over 150 people, so as far as "leadership" i think we are doing damn well. We already have infiltrated null sec, are building up our cash, going to go for some moon mining, and work our asses off, without being blue to any one person or alliance in game. We run a 32 jump gauntlet daily just to bring fuel into our pos. we had a 40 man escort for our transport. We have a nice size cap fleet, though we are not ready to use it, as we havent decided who our friends or our enemies are yet.
I think we will just be just fine, and who knows maybe one day you will realize "damn...that post was way off"

It would be nice to see more info and some battle reports of smaller alliance here, but as stated above they would most likely get trolled to death. Some of my best fights in game where when i was in small alliance trying to make a spot in 0.0 If i were to ever leave Havoc or get booted I would most likely go to a smaller 0.0 alliance The only thing im running is my mouth |

better to be in a small active alliance with no sov than a big inactive one with sov
apart from that we live in npc 0.0 and have a minimal blue list.
apart from that we like interior decorating lessons (Kron is our mentor) and listen to dreamwoks tell us about the time he was a soldier during WWI (he is realy realy old).

You're going to have to explain where you were typing from so that you couldn't see what you were typing as you were doing it.
Other than that, IT (not the alliance) is doing pretty good, on yet another rebuild cycle. Been chilling out with batviper in PF-346... it's surprising how many people I've met who thought I was dead.
