Edited by: YannZeGeek on 22/12/2009 03:48:47 Edited by: YannZeGeek on 22/12/2009 03:48:09 Hello,
I use to produce from time to time some Viators, just to make some good margin... Last time was... (I don't remember...) 6-8 months ago or so. At that time, inventing a Viator BPC at ME-4 gave me a production cost at 40-42mil on average. Then Dominion came and things are becoming really "weird": Same BPC ME-4 is giving completely different material requirements (as per Dominion modifications) and Advanced Moon Material prices increased dramatically (Crystalline Carbonide x1.5, Sylmaric Fibers x2.5, Nanotransistors x4, ...) over the last 6 months (checking Sing Laison region market). Given the current situation (BPC reqs and market prices), I can't produce a Viator below 100mil! Fine with that, excepting one little detail: Built Viators prices are going down from 75mil 6 month ago to 65mil now...
So... What I am missing? Decryptors won't change the balance so significantly... And I don't plan to have a POS in Lowsec to get my Moon Materials by myself: not my taste so far.
Advices are welcome! :-)

It sounds like you just found an excellent opportunity. Buy a few of those viators at those reduced prices and hold. Once the prices return to normal levels, dump your stock. If your math is correct, the prices cannot stay below cost for long, or at least not 60% of cost.

The question is - what does he do, if the raw materials are coming down in price ? ;-) The fact is, some moon products are still high (dyspo, etc.) and some are already high (technetium eg)... T2 items should go down in price again, eventually over the next weeks/months

It's an overstock balancing issue. Raw materials are changing but overall are up. Existing stocks of current T2 inventory are still selling at un-adjusted prices (for the most part). Basically just keep an eye on the market and don't manufacture until it's profitable again. Eventually the raw materials prices will come down or the old stocks will run out. When that happens it'll be time to resume manufacturing.

Your math is correct. A lot of ships are like this currently.
My prices are a day old, but this is what the build + invention costs are with various decryptors.
Market price\Total cost 64 173 976,00\108 587 490,39 64 173 976,00\105 103 977,20 64 173 976,00\114 000 202,22 64 173 976,00\102 493 001,86 64 173 976,00\119 232 576,88
