Can someone near there go to this event and ask what CCP really want to do next with this mess called unified UI? Will CCP REAL listen to its paying customers or just simulate interest again- but wont change anything?
Sorry for my harsh words. But I pay for this game since more than 4 years but am not able to PLAY since 22.05.2012 because of this sh!t unified UI. Burn it in hell and rebuild the old one with your new shiny code! 
If someone from CCP claims that they did something to improve this mess I have to say that they absolute did nothing for MY and many others concerns. Sure they did something.. but, as always, the wrong things.

Looks like you forgot to include the link to the eventbrite site for signing up though. The only link is the general info one for the Arts Center. |

a drink who's production was moved completely out of Newcastle, over a river and then out of the North East pretty much entirely. There is a %.5 chance the Brown Ale your drinking was made in Newcastle.... no thanks.
I will be on my home on this day and will say no more about it to avoid tempting fate. A ticket has been secured and the invitation even extended to non capsuleers. I can't think of a better way to start someone off. Be interesting to find out more about what you get upto over there on the wrong side of the Tyne

I recently saw your posting. I am sorry to hear that a fellow -paying- customer is unable to play. I have to say that I am less than happy with this 'NEW' unified UI as well. I find it to be less than stellar. Not to mention it seems to be click intensive in order to get to where it is that I want to go now.
I understand the need for advancement of the game, development of new things to keep the game moving forward. However, I do not believe this was a good move. Testing things on the "Test Server" is a good way to get feedback. But that implies that a large number of people use the test server to get a proper evaluation. But what works on the "Test Server" with 50, or 100, or 500 players. May not go over so well when it goes into game play with 5,000 players.
As for the request that you made. I do not think talking to whoever is going to be at the event is going to be of any use. As I was reading on the forums a few days ago (perhaps a couple weeks really) some interesting posts. I though that I was the only one that noticed the 'tree driven UI' that is very similar to that of so many diffeent games for PS3 and Xbox. Games like "Call of Duty", "Modern Warfare", and a whole slew of others.
In a nutshell I think that we, the PC players are stuck with this for the duration. There is no escapeing it. This is a result of the 'powers that be' & corp. big wigs at CCP made the call on the DUST platform. By going with the PS3 platform (or Xbox if that had been the choice), ALL of the PC players have to be gimped into using a UI that someone with 2 joystick, 4 buttons, and 4 'bumper' buttons can access and navigate.
Honestly for all of the programming skill, effort, & energy that has been put forward on this venture. I would have thought by now that someone would have found or invented a better way to do this. After all why slight one group ( the Eve PC players ), in favor of a new game platform. Where the game/content are not even really enterchangeable. |

I'll be sure to mention the new UI, and how happy I am with it. Not sure why so many people have problems with it unless they don't use Windows Explorer much as it's pretty similar to that. Plus filters are cool. |

There is quite heavy flooding in a lot of areas and i've been told by north east electric board that there may be powers cuts. So anyone who is out, be careful! ^_^

The only issue is, Nexus are cancelling some major bus routes because of flooding. For instance, the coast road is completely blocked off.
Its a shame this couldn't be postponed. By some of the things I'm seeing on facebook, its scary!

I know, I have concerns about people actually arriving there tonight. It's too late to post-pone as people have already began their trips from afar I imagine.
There will be some buses otherwise people will find themselves stranded but there are a lot of traffic problems due to the flooding.
I'm currently watching North-East tonight and seeing that Eldon Square and the Metrocentre have been evacuated so I hope there won't be further problems as the storm has moved further towards Sunderland.

Just spoke to taxi rank (station Taxis)and they said roads were closed. I then checked on line and could not see any warnings so called back, they said A19 is open now nut Felling bypass is open 'with caution'. So taxi is on its way. Unless it rains again it should be fine. |

however my mate is stuck in gateshead and he got a on a bus which took an hour to get to gateshead stadium
all the traffic is at a stand still with people walking up and down the roads around their cars

Given up trying to get through A1 from Durham. Road is down to 1 lane and place is like a carpark. Other routes through Wrekenton and Springwell all shut by Police.

Real shame the weather hit when it did. I was just landing in Newcastle when the **** hit the fan (local boy not a nutter) Im more then certain a good time was had by all and certainly met a few kind strangers and had some Good Ferbalisations (see what i did thar) with CCP DelegateZero but big shout outs all round for everyone being there.
I had quite the journey for making it into town in good time a very long walk to find a hire bike to then try and navigate the town moor and exhibition park (pic related) http://imgur.com/5GWzK
the pond literally took over all of exhibition park. Probably the worst weather I've ever witnessed in England.
Once in Newcastle though all plain sailing the taxi driver who drove me home said most of the big roads towards the coast were still flooded so anyone who has an early start tomorrow GOOD LUCK!
If anyone has those pics I look forward to seeing them :P

Shame about the weather but we had one very dedicated player come last night. That brings a new meaning to HTFU for sure.
He came all the way from Hong Kong, took a taxi from London, had it wait outside, got all our autographs and bought one of the EVE banners for 120 pounds or so.
We will be looking into repeating this in the future. At least in one years time during GameHorizon 2013 but probably sooner.

Thanks ever so much CCP and players for a great night. Hope to do something like this again because as a new player it was really good to learn so much from some of the more experienced players that I was talking to. Especially the no so bitter vet who has 7 years under his belt. Everyone there was really great.

Thanks to all the CCP staff involved in making last night possible. Despite all the chaos with severe weather across the north east, fun was definitely had by all. (Particularly SamuraJack.. who's somewhat paranoid after Unifex said he knew him after a lost bet regarding the BoB/ASCN war.
After the epic camp at the venue, some of us pilots of a more dubious nature (including one newbie) decided to go on a bit of a roam, but that was cut premature in the again because of SJ burning out all his midslots (Quite literally.. I don't know if he remembers being in Sinners)
I spent a lot of the night meeting new people, and advertising the ingame channel thats been set up (though I can't remember who created it) for all of the people in the north east to chill out, talk nonsense, and arrange eve-meets in the future (which, by the way.. we expect the team involved at the office in newcastle to be in attendance.. No excuses!) The channel's called "North East England Chillout"

Fail reading comprehension ftl :( Was really hoping to get a nice Dust514 T-shirt as well.
Numbers of terminally stupid people seem to be on the increase, I suggest we have a real life Stupidageddon to rectify this issue. |

Many thanks for to the couple of lovely chaps who gave me a lift to and from, awell as putting up with my half drunken rabbling and demands for a toilet break on the way home.
Apparently ford fiesta's make great boats as we braved the oceans on the A194 in order to get there, after some pretty dodgy directions from me after we found the A19 gridlocked.
A great night, and yes Tyr, I was there for that dedicated fan who promptly pulled out approximately 200 quid when told "well we could give you one but you'd have to pay for us to replace it"
I stand by my comment that you guys seriously need to fix the online store, or maybe I'm just being an idiot with it, who knows.
Many thanks to the devs for an outstanding evening filled with laughs, good times, and free drinks a-plenty.
Also met a group of nice pilots (including 2 PL, who knew PL could be nice?) and was fortunate enough to not bump into any bees, as I felt that podding them I.R.L would of been a service to the EvE community.
All in all, despite the biblical weather, a great night all around and looking forward to the next one. |

I taken my camera with me, but like the idiot I am, I kind of accidently left it at my hotel and forgot to bring it with me. (Bit like those moments in a huge fleet fight where you go reship, and kind of forget to bring ammo with you) |

One of the Devs was walking around with his phone taking pictures of each group of people that were talking to each other. It's those pictures I would like to see.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and commiserations to those that the weather affected. Have to say I have never seen rain like that in the UK before.
It was a great night and I had a blast talking to everyone I could. I will certainly push for us doing another session to make up for the weather. Not sure when but having an office in Newcastle makes it all a little easier.
