Well, there are many good reasons listed here for starting a corp. There is also a lot to be said for joining an existing corp. You can benefit a lot from that and there are many corps out there that give almost as great freedom to play the game your way as your own corp would.
The major benefit of joining an existing corp is that the infrastructure is already in place, you dont have to spend time looking for offices, factories etc. Plus, you always have the experience of older players to draw from no matter what you are interested in doing.
Maybe you should shop around for such an organization instead ?
